Not surprised by this at all. They use democracy to elect religious zealots and then those zealots get rid of democracy.

We should have never supported the Arab Spring. We turned on Mubarak who was a loyal supporter of the West for decades. It's better to have an iron fisted dictator who will keep the peace then a democratic government that elects extremists.
