We are told to receive all food with thanks:

1 Tim 4:4

"For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:"

Other places God's people often rejoice and give thanks for the many blessings. This is where the evening prayer before bedtime came from - to give thanks.

In like manner we give thanks for this land, instituted by Christians during the colonial days.

The Lord's prayer you quote is not an actual prayer to be repeated rather is a pattern for prayer. Repetitious prayer is vain and of none effect.

"But when you pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking." (Mt6:7)
