Just a thought the Russians have a quick deployable surveillance drone that flies like a frisbee. They launch it on a almost vertical catapult rail system and it boomerangs around to where it was launched from within just minutes to mere minutes depending on how long the fight is programed for. If the mission only requires recon of the local area, it's the only way to go. I'm sure we are working on something similar.
