Anonymous Coward User ID: 28317365 United States 11/23/2012 12:17 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I don't know if this is the right course of action to take or what. I just don't know who to turn to for help. I have, or had, a Twitter account. Today I shared an article about two news anchors in Bangor, ME who quit on live TV and later cited pressure to report biased news as the reason for leaving. ( [link to www.nydailynews.com] ) When I logged back into my twitter account, I had been retweeted by someone I didn't know. I did, however, recognize the others listed such as Harry Fear and Occupy groups. I quickly blocked them after verifying they were with 'Anonymous' but it was too late. By the time I got back to my main screen others were either retweeting me or now following me. Fast. I know for a fact it is not because they are fans. So, I deleted my twitter account. But I am uneasy about this. What info can they get about me? How worried should I be? Quoting: Requiemdream I mean, I know how easy it is to get someone's IP address. They could track my every move. I just simply have no way of knowing how deep they went as far as my physical location, etc. Do you have any advice on this? It really pisses me off that I have to loose my freedoms because of someones threats and intimidation, all because they didn't like a news story I shared? Has Stalin been resurrected yet? Thanks You are an idiot. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 28147705 United States 11/23/2012 12:25 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | so lets see. you posted a tweet about a story that involved folks making a stand for reporting unvarnished truth, and then folks who may belong to an organization that has a reputation for championing dissemination of unvarnished truth retweeted it. it was then retweeted by more such folks, as well as others. hmmmmmmmm, yeah, i could see how that might fill you with fear. i dont think closing your account was enough though. you should probably burn down your house, and shoot your dog just to be on the safe side. roflmao, are you really that irrationally paranoid?? |

Mozey passed on without completing his piece. It's open to interpretation. Maybe you can just finish this drama in any manner you dream up. Dream safe and secure. I could be wrong. to some, a stand for truth, and even speaking out in support of that stand for truth transcends other less important differences. it's called "common ground". finding that is the first step to meaningful interaction, and possibly, shocking as it may seem to you, "common cause". but hey, if you need some matches for the house, or a couple of .38 shells for the dog, lemme know |

Requiemdream (OP) User ID: 27999624 United States 11/23/2012 01:06 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I don't believe that simply because you think a question is stupid you should feel the need to go all out and humiliate the person who asked it. A simple "they CAN'T HACK YOUR COMPUTER" or "GIVE YOU A VIRUS" would be nice. Or 'it's OK to keep your Twitter account, just block them and do a b c...' That's the help I wanted. Jesus fucking god how immature to respond with such venom to a simple question. At least now I know what NOT to do!
