I think Xmas sales are going to blow this year

As someone who works in a prominent retail store, I can tell you that the managers are clearly surprised at the lack of customers.

Today closing the tills, I know of at least three cashiers that were already balanced. Meaning nobody bought anything with Cash, and there were only a few receipts meaning only a few debit/credit/gift card transactions.

Pretty worrisome.

I've decided not to have Christmas. I'm a senior on Social Security and it's just too expensive anymore. Why cam't we all just be together and forget all the gift giving. i'm already sick of all the Christmas ads and it's just now Thanksgiving,

As in the number of people doing it? Number of goods being purchased? Or the total amount of goods cost purchased?

You must remember that most things bought online are with credit, which is not helping the problem.

Yes, my siblings and I are under employed or approaching retirement. Several years ago we agreed to make donations to charities in honor of each other. It works great. Totally eliminated shopping stress and even a small donation helps.

Allow people to buy via ebt cards.

People are walking about but not buying.

I say people will spend more this year for Christmas than in the past 4 years.
