Funny...cuz I took a ton of pics of the moon and sometimes they had something near them and sometimes they didn't even though I never moved. Also as I was taking pics of the moon my crazy family ran away from the car and into mil's house and it was then that I saw a small light-small like a star, so it must have been pretty high up-zigzagging here and there. I tried to take pics but I couldn't capture it. It really was that small and night-time pics aren't the best from my cell-phone.

About those moon pics. I have taken a lot of pics of the moon in the last 2 years. And I am well aware of lens flare. This was no lens flare. I have these globes on all sides of the moon. Some close...some far away. I stand in the same spot and take at least 3 pics to have comparison. So there is no way that these are lens flares. At least six of them were in a no-lightpost area as well, from two different angles.

Alas it was a busy day so me and whole family went to bed by 11:30 so I can't confirm any EQ or sound. Good post OP.

Just posted this in another South Jersey thread. I'm up in no. Jersey(Hudson County) and experienced some strange happenings this morning myself. I went to bed around 11pm last night and woke up very suddenly at 12:13am. I know the exact time because I glanced at my Tv cable box. Can't say I felt any type of jolt especially since I don't live near the epicenter of the minor eq that occurred at the exact same time. Could be a coincidence. I fell back to sleep only to be awakened by a strange, heavy odor coming into my apt from the outside(slept with the windows opened). I can only describe the odor as being similar to sewer gas. I woke up to this odor at around 4am. Boyfriend told me that he woke up at 3am smelling the same thing. It was extremely heavy in the air. I didn't find out about the eq until 7am. Afterwards I came to Glp and saw this thread and another on the eq. Anyone in north Jersey notice this strange smell?? I'm finding this all a little too coincidental and bizarre.

Hmmm, I saw a bright green fireball coming down right around that time. I was on I-95S, heading south, of course.

I'm in North Jersey however. I imagine something falling from the sky in South Jersey wouldn't reach my eyes up here, but figure it was worth mentioning.

My first thought isn't extraterrestrial, but some sort of satellite (US or Chinese?) equipped with something to cause it.

Last night before going to sleep I felt/heard a light rumble inside. Apparently this EQ was 6 miles away. It was very short compared to the Virginia EQ in recent memory.

TONS of reports of something bright streaking across the sky, possible meteor strike.. with a shallow quake like this, i dont think it can be discounted..

A friend of mine just told me he was at an outdoor thanksgiving party last night and sawthe fireball. He believed it was a meteor. Afterwards, a military plane flew over at a low altitude. The plane was a large bomber and had a laser attachment that was scanning the ground. He took cellphone video, but it looks like shit.

Would really like to know what the thing was.

We looked at the earthquake map last night and the epicenter was about 300 feet from our back door.....big boom and a shake! Thought a bomb went off!


it felt stronger than the one we had last year. I was asleep and woke up thinking something exploded or there was a really low plane that went by. It was over before I even got out of bed so I went back to sleep

My wife, son and I were watching tv when we heard a loud deep groan and then the house began to shake. I stood up to go see if something crashed outside, but before I could make my way outside I had to stop as I began to get dizzy. After I regained myself I went out and saw that nothing had happened outside, like a crash or something like that. Then we realized it must have been a quake. It was a different experience but nothing fell down or got damaged

I heard a boom in Clayton and thought it was an accident off in the distance, guess I was wrong

Heard a wierd sound and what I thought was a sonic boom here in Hilltop section of Glo. Twp. Thought it was a military jet.
