wonder what they will force us to buy next to make it fair for everyone. Heathcare check. Retirement check. Housing check. Food check. We seem to provide an over abundant source of money for the gubmint to redistribute to those who won't, can't or don't. Don't get me wrong we should help take care of our children and elderly who can't take care of themselves. But this asinine belief that we should make it fair for everyone is absolute nonsense. So if you work and provide for your family and do what is morally and ethically right you are going to be punished to make it fair for those that will not participate. Life ain't fair folks and this admin. is proving that. WAKE UP AMERICA

It's not like Wall Street has a great track record. How many lost most of their savings in 2008 when The stock market tanked. 401ks are usually tied to stock mkt.

A person chooses & controls whether they wish to be in the stock market. 401Ks can be placed in bonds or cash if the owner chooses.

This plan will take everything you have & compel you into this system.

For an indication of how well this will work, one needs only look at the current Social Security system.

^^ This is the plan- a percentage of all 401Ks will be mandated into Treasury Bonds to finance the debt - we are totally screwed - and liberals are to blame - they voted for this human error who calls himself Obama.

I agree Lady Jane. IMHO, I have thought for quite some time that everything from the (forced) housing crisis, to the (forced) economic crisis has all been to further push the Liberal Progressive agenda, but also to make their man Obama look as Licoln'esque as possible. Then, what better way for him to look even more Lincoln'esque than to preside over a civil war. May sound crazy, but this has been stuck in my mind for several months now.

One thing they do need to deeply consider, if this is their goal, is that such actions tend to have very unpredictable outcomes.

Our president won't permit the expansion of our drilling here so there is no comparison to the US at this time. Unless the libs move to nationalize our oil/gas industry. Come on now the administration has been talking about this since they got in office. Gov needs a captured buyer for US Treasuries, China's not buying any more so that engine for global leverage, err I mean "growth", is history.

Accounts won't be confiscated, all your money will just be rolled into one gigantic fund to buy US debt since all other buyers have left the building (minus the Fed).

Of course, there will be no real money (or purchasing power) left in your account come retirement.
