Those with stored food, and power source, might last until one or the other runs out Also, with no ecosystem to speak of, tthe air would eventually become unbreatheable. The only chance of life to continue (humand and the animals they took with them) would be in deep underground bunkers with nuclear reactors. The core of the earth would continue to be hot for a long time even without the sun. Even then, those living underground would probably slowly die off and never get off the planet. Not a happy life.

It get really chilly, the temp drops about 10-20 degrees. The sun wouldn't likely just go out like a light bulb. It would eject mall kinds of good stuff that would prolly kill the planet before it died. However, if it did just turn off, you have about seven minutes and the. You freeze to death very quickly.

Have to get about 100 feet underground fast. Then work your way down to about 500 to 1000 feet. The earth produces more heat than the Sun gives to it. It's molten inside because its so hot.
