Manhood and Womanhood Defined According to the Bible
The tendency today is to stress the equality of men and women by minimizing the unique significance of our maleness or femaleness. But this depreciation of male and female personhood is a great loss.

Confusion over the meaning of sexual personhood today is epidemic. The consequence of this confusion is not a free and happy harmony among gender-free persons relating on the basis of abstract competencies. The consequence rather is more divorce, more homosexuality, more sexual abuse, more promiscuity, more social awkwardness, and more emotional distress and suicide that come with the loss of God-given identity.

Masculinity: At the heart of mature masculinity is a sense of benevolent responsibility to lead, provide for and protect women in ways appropriate to a man’s differing relationships.

Femininity: At the heart of mature femininity is a freeing disposition to affirm, receive and nurture strength and leadership from worthy men in ways appropriate to a woman’s differing relationships

It goes way beyond this, down to spirit versus matter, but nobody is prepared to understand and I will be flamed forever.

Probably, but I hope not. :)

But I think the OP's thread title should be "Manhood and Womanhood Defined by a Book's Author, Using Selected Passages from the Bible to Support His Personal Point of View."

Are you a woman? Your logic seems similar to Finnish women.

Might I suggest you go experience these things yourself, then come back and give your first hand account, and not some books or other morans definition?

Re: Manhood and Womanhood Defined According to the Bible
Genderhood not sexual.

Other than that good post.

There is, also, a lack of understanding about one gender desiring to have equal access to the things they can do and enjoy as the other that has nothing to do with trying to make them "equal" in ways that no one enjoys with respect to the other.

A number of posts indicate the real deal with the issue when it is asked if women should have been or should be granted certain things which suggests, still, that the power resides in men to do this. That negates that as human beings we are all granted to pursue those things which anyone else is and to fail or not according to our abilities, not our specific gender.

For anyone to submit in the manner that Jesus asks, it is for men and women to do according to how they themselves desire to offer that. Jesus told men to love their wives as Jesus loves His church, not to beat into submission those who fail in this nor for the men to beat their wives into submission. It means nothing if it is not offered from ourselves.

Men historically have not loved their wives as Jesus has told them and women finally got tired of it. Until we both do as He has said we are in trouble but for men who think as so many do on this site that it is their choice to tell women whAt they can and cannot do nothing will ever change.
