this makes one wonder just how much of nyc, especially that area is a swiss cheese network of tunnels and what not under ground. i mean how many underground railways are sitting abandoned i downtown manhattan alone. here in northeast pa we have to deal with this every now and then, mine subsidence,. just a guess it will get worse before it gets better.

"Beach 68th Street" I think is a street in Rockaway, which is basically a sandbar off the southeast coast of Queens.

It's not like Long Island or the rest of NYC is sinking. But Rockaway may never be the same.

This is part and parcel of the ongoing getting worsr by the minute ground subsidence all along the East Coast. The Louisianna Sinkhole is just the tip of the Iceberg so to speak.

USGS was all up and down that coast line taking measurements after the Sandy Storm but its nore than that as they were also in Area's not affected by the storm.

People need to pat attention to work crews and to persons along these areas setting up monitors and report them here. Anything. Anything strange being seen. Its important to everybody living along the coast to pay attention to everything going on there.

The whole area is showing signs of being completely unstable.

Also any booms and humms need to be reported. There were some just last night in NJ.
