Life of Pi - Save your money... boring
So we always go to the movies on Thanksgiving... so we went to see Life of Pi

85% of the movie was about an Indian boy on a boat in the Pacific with a Begal Tiger.... trying not to be eaten by him.

1. He had an opportunity when the Tiger jumped for a fish to get rid of him. But built a rack for him to jump on the boat with him again.

2. It was NOT good for kids... it leaves a very bad impression

3. He hit an island and decided to leave because no one was there and AGAIN... .he CALLS the Tiger to get on the boat.

a MAN EATING TIGER... nope not good..

4. IT sends lots of MIXED Messages about Religion...

5. I am sure it is just a matter of time before the animal rights advocates SUE THEM.

Very Bad Boring Movie!

Re: Life of Pi - Save your money... boring
1. He said at the end that he would not have survived without the tiger. Saving the tiger gave him something to live for. It kept his humanity intact. Also, more like 1/3 of the movie was on the boat. They went into great detail about his past, which only made up about 20% of the book.

2. The book was much more graphic than the movie. The movie basically edited out all of the gore between the tarp and shadowing. It is rated PG, but honestly I feel that you are overreacting. The only thing I feel that would leave a poor impression would be Pi placing the tiger on his lap. I think that was a poor decision on the director's part. That scene was not in the book and should not have been included. It was supposed to be cute, but it may give children the wrong idea. However, it did show Richard Parker eating the goat. I amGlad they showed that; It is an important lesson for children.

3. Movie explains his actions and again he can not live without Richard Parker.

4. If you follow religion linearly than I suppose it would. The point is that there is not one path to follow. The biggest point of it all is the freedom to set your own lines, follow, them, and not fall victim to conformity.

5. Not really a point. Not a chance in hell though.

I must agree with you on that last point. The movie tried too hard to make it visually appealing in the short amount of time given. It really should not have been made into a movie. Still, I think several of the key issues of the book were present in the movie, and that it was not a complete farce because what was present is in line with the book.

I really think the reason that you disapprove of the movie is because you can not think critically, which is my biggest issue on why it should not have been made in the first place. You do not go to the movies to learn and try to make sense of life. You go to see vampires and explosions.

Hi:

If you call that movie "boring" then you know nothing about cinematography and art. I personally have never seen a movie that has such profound and moving images, and from an artistic point of view it is simply sublime!

This is a movie that MUST make a profound impression upon anyone with a thinking mind and a love for animals, despite the portrayed stark realism. I simply loved it for its honesty and sens of purpose - especially in the 3D version!

Anyone calling this movie boring is perverse and ignorant - sorry - I call it a I see it. Go watch this truly GREAT movie - but don't bring your small children - they can't grasp the deeper meaning(s) and sometimes severe adherence to reality.

Cheers,

Lancelot.

Some guy was saying about kids learning lessons from movies.

God help us if your kids are LEARNING stuff from movies in this day and age.

We really are fucked. Teach your kids not to play with dangerous animals. How hard is that? Fucking hell, if your kids are too stupid to separate movies from reality, they deserve to be eaten by tigers.
