This is not "in heat" or "urinary problems". Sick cats get really really quiet. This one is 14 years old. She is warning you. Hey, fuck off asshole Spaying has nothing to do with the urinary tract I have a friends whose got an older, long-SPAYED cat who gets UTIs a lot UTI's are very common in cats. Lost two male cats due to that even though I got them to the Vet ASAP. No harm in checking it out anyway. |

Quoting: .. 1610510 The litter box scared her because she felt pain while she was near it. She needs help. How do you expect her to express discomfort to you? Email? Sticky note? She's a CAT. Being impatient with her because you are unable to communicate with her is tragically sad. Call an after hours vet or at the very least take her to the vet on Saturday. If you ignore this, you shouldn't have pets at all. OMG...hello Mr./Miss Judgmental. It has only been 5 hours. She isn't rolling around the floor in convulsions. Her eyes are clear and she doesn't have an elevated temperature (YEAH..I checked...but I don't give a crap right?). She ate her damn food and hasn't thrown up. I didn't post for a medical diagnosis. I wanted to see if anyone else was seeing odd behavior TODAY from their pets. |
| ParallaxPam (OP) User ID: 15366249 11/23/2012 01:54 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | oh, and yes they get urinary tract infections constantly if you feed them SHIT food from the grocery store or pet store. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27129259 You might as well eat tv dinners every meal, because THAT is what your doing to your cat. Well, the asshole judgmentals are out in full force today I see (Oh wait...this is GLP...just another day). She gets quality food from Blue and has since she was a kitten. Nice assumption though Douche. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1072087 She will pass on sometime in the next 24 hours. I don't think so. But I can only hope. She was mainly my deceased husbands cat and I only tolerate her. I am nice to her but if she crosses the rainbow bridge anytime soon I won't be shedding any tears. Wow, You sound like a total Shit bag. For the Cat's sake it would be awesome if YOU passed away in the next 24 hours. Really? I am a SHITBAG because I don't like cats but I was the one taking care of her ALL 14 years because the husband wanted a cat but didn't want to take care of one? REALLY? I am soooo happy you know so much about me. Here I was thinking that I was an anonymous person in this world but thank GOD there is someone who knows me so well that when I DO die they can put on my Tombstone "She was a SHITBAG cause she took care of a cat but didn't enjoy it". |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 17851333 11/23/2012 02:10 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | She is normally a calm relaxed cat. She will meow if she wants to eat or go outside. She is almost 14 and in good health. Quoting: ParallaxPam Today starting around 7 central time she just started walking around the house weird...going into every room and incessantly meowing. Not a weak cute little meow but an ongoing, resonating, irritating meow. I let her out in the backyard...she wasn't happy. Gave her her food that she ate...but still wasn't happy. Opened the doors to the rooms I usually keep her out of...wasn't happy. She went up to the bathroom where her litter box is in the undersink cabinet and something freaked her out cause she jumped out of it and nearly tore it apart with the force of her jump (I have it velcroed down to a pull-out cabinet thing for easy cleaning). She just won't shut up. I am in central US (Oklahoma). Anyone else's animals weird today? Dogs are fine...it is just the damn cat. Could be F.U.S. Feline Urinary Syndrome. Has she been urinating? If not, she could have a bladder infection and that can cause a lot of pain and distress. You might want to consult a Vet. I agree! Jumping out of the litter box is a good sign of this. It hurts when they pee and they associate the box with the pain and don't want to use it. Look for peeing outside the box and check how big her pees are if you can, inside the box. No pee, big problem! One of my cats has this, it is chronic. Have to watch him all the time. It happens more in males, but also happens in females. |

In an online community like this, there are a lot of pet owners/breeders that care. Sorry if you felt slammed. Hope some of it helped anyway. Yeah. No. I understand. But I did NOT ask for medical advice as you can clearly see by my post. Well, then, to answer your specific question, I have one Pomeranian I'm looking after for my daughter who's acting very strange, but then, he's a Pom...so strangeness is a given. The rest of the cats and dogs here are acting like their usual delightfully evil selves. :-) |

Yes OP, I live in southeastern PA - not near you, but there was a small minor EQ in New Jersey last evening, not too far from me - unusual area, even though it was small. My cats are hovering in the bathroom constantly the last 24 hours - all three of them. One is sitting on the toilet lid, one is in the sink and the other is precariously perched on the edge of the bathtub. I have to literally pick the one up off the toilet to use it (sorry TMI) and within minutes of my leaving the bathroom he is right back on the toilet again. Strangely they are not laying in there sleeping, they are sitting there, eyes wide open like they are on watch. This bathroom is in the center of my house and is a small bathroom. There was a small EQ in Missouri about the same time as the NJ small EQ late last night...not right on top of you but close enough. I have never seen my cats do anything like this. Even though cats are pack animals, mine don't seem to care if they are sleeping or resting with the others....this is really very weird for them. Also the toilet sitter becomes very upset if the two younger ones leave the bathroom and try to make them come back...crying like he is calling them and won't stop until they come back. |
