She is almost 14 and in good health. Quoting: ParallaxPam Today starting around 7 central time she just started walking around the house weird...going into every room and incessantly meowing. Not a weak cute little meow but an ongoing, resonating, irritating meow. I let her out in the backyard...she wasn't happy. Gave her her food that she ate...but still wasn't happy. Opened the doors to the rooms I usually keep her out of...wasn't happy. She went up to the bathroom where her litter box is in the undersink cabinet and something freaked her out cause she jumped out of it and nearly tore it apart with the force of her jump (I have it velcroed down to a pull-out cabinet thing for easy cleaning). She just won't shut up. I am in central US (Oklahoma). Anyone else's animals weird today? Dogs are fine...it is just the damn cat. all the critters here are talking and yapping |

Even if she's fixed, if another female outside is in heat and the males are after her, your inside cat will react. Quoting: Texan Buckeye No. Not it. She is exclusively inside cat except for backyard. She goes out and for 14 years has not figured out how (or just doesn't care to) to jump the 6 foot fence. We don't have any other cats around. I swear I am close to finding a cat muzzle for her. She is making me nervous and anxious. |

If not, she could have a bladder infection and that can cause a lot of pain and distress. You might want to consult a Vet. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1072087 She will pass on sometime in the next 24 hours. I don't think so. But I can only hope. She was mainly my deceased husbands cat and I only tolerate her. I am nice to her but if she crosses the rainbow bridge anytime soon I won't be shedding any tears. |

.. User ID: 1610510 United States 11/23/2012 01:29 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | She's in pain. The litter box scared her because she felt pain while she was near it. She needs help. How do you expect her to express discomfort to you? Email? Sticky note? She's a CAT. Being impatient with her because you are unable to communicate with her is tragically sad. Call an after hours vet or at the very least take her to the vet on Saturday. If you ignore this, you shouldn't have pets at all. |

Seriously, get her some help. If her bladder ruptures, you've got instant peritonitis and that will kill her. It is not a merciful death either, so get vet care for her. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 27129259 United States 11/23/2012 01:38 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | my 11 year old cat starting doing that. I took her to the vet, they drew her blood, her thyroid was all screwed up. (Crappy food). We have her on a special diet of food I get from the vet, it cost about 30 dollars buts lasts 3 months. She only get 1 scoop in the morning, 1 scoop at night. No more no less. NOOO, absoluetly NOOO extra treats, no milk (bad for cats), no tuna etc etc etc. She was back to normal and not whinning at me constantly. She is an indoor cat, very independent, only needs attention for about 1/2 hour a night and then she spends her time between about 10 sleeping areas. Trust me, get a good vet, and get them on the diet they need. |

Quoting: 13th-Century Come on, people, can't you read? This is not "in heat" or "urinary problems". Sick cats get really really quiet. This one is 14 years old. She is warning you. Hey, fuck off asshole Spaying has nothing to do with the urinary tract I have a friends whose got an older, long-SPAYED cat who gets UTIs a lot |
