There is a connection between the gut and the brain , a friend of mine was a GP and she often mentioned this to me when my son was small.....I made sure he had decent food , organic where possible and no drinks of "squash".....you ve only got to visit poor areas where the parents are not educated and are giving their babies cans of coke and packets of crisps/feeding them MacDonalds to see how this is true......

The main connection with the gut and the brain is with the likes of Dr Campbell who have shit for brains.

This is true my daughter has two autistic children and she went on the gaps diet. Actually the whole family did and the children are reversing their autism. It has been a good five years now and they go to public school and if you were to give them just a simple piece of bread they would be in pain and act out. It's not a complete fix because they had to have some assistants with social skills. No dairy, nuts, glutton, those having the worst effects on the children.

Dr. Mercola. I sit on a very narrow fence with him. There is something that sends off bells and sirens in my head when I feel that information is sensationalized like his.

However, there is usually some measure of truth in most of his articles. I don't have time to listen to the video after reading the long article, but will say this. It is very true that the gut is tied to brain function.

My daughter has mild Asperger's and has stomach and intestinal issues; Reflux, Gastric Emptying, Functional Bowel Syndrome and extreme constipation, which means multiple medications daily to combat these issues. Every child I know who is in the autism spectrum has gut issues and that is not an exaggeration.

It is worth the read - then use your own discretion as to what you think.

Glutton? Are your grandchildren intolerant to gluton or do they have Celiac Disease. My daughter does not have Celiac. She had a biopsy for that when her stomach was scoped, so that was the most concrete test. However, she does seem to do better without gluton.

Thank you for posting this...I know many won't believe it...but from personal experience with intestinal/gut problems and other health problems, I can relate to the benefits of dietary and lifestyle changes and mental health! I have had parasites in the past (intestinal), yea its gross, but many have them and don't even realize it.

I noticed significantly better mental and physical health after restoring balance to my digestive system (which tended to be sluggish) and detoxing other things such as heavy metals and parasites from my system!

What's funny is that most of them can be fixed or improved by vitamin D treatment. Check their vitamin D level and you'd see that pretty much all are deficient in Vitamin D.

hey my name is "SHEP" and i totally understand what this doctor might be saying. i have A.D.D. and asthma my whole life. when i was 14 they gave me adderall and i stopped it 2 years later and now i never feel normal without amphetamines. :( i always have stomach issues and I(even when completely sober) feel weird..tired like i don't know whats going on around me and i get concerned about whether or not i was supposed to do something. it has always gotten me depressed and find myself unsocial,and i will usually start resorting to narcotics, alcohol, and/or sex.
using amphetamines helps with my asthma and my attention, but not my health nor my long term goals. the alcohol helps out on some social anxieties but its usually short lived. some would say to stop the narcotics and alcohol but they show me no alternative to my symptoms every time i try. im stuck between a rock and a hard place...(i think.)

Nope. Like I said, it's patented on a level of scrutiny normally reserved for a pharaceutical. There are over 20 peer reviewed papers on it as well. If you're referring to Glutathione per se, don't waste your money. Glutathione taken orally is too large a molecule to get inside the cell where it is normally produced. Even if it could survive the digestive process to be absorbed in the intestine (which it wouldn't, and would therefore be useless), it wouldn't increase INTRACELLULAR glutathione which is one of the wonders of the product and why it is so effective.
