I have been on GLP when Ken Steadman ran the show. Late 1997 I believe.

Much more materialistic now, more temporal less spiritual

the science talk was much more in depth with highly intelligent people, not as much today

I miss that crazy ol man too. I loved his fervor and excitement with all the cool things that went on with the sun. and you hit the nail on the head with the assessment.

Not really it has always been about seeking the alternative side of things, the hidden, the arcane and esoteric

No, the knock off sites are not the same, I have been to a few but for all there freedom they espouse they are more controlled than here

lastly, perhaps...I am not sure about giving up as much as taking what you gain and incorporating change into your daily life.
