I caught a kid trying to take my bike from the corner grocery store when I was about 9 years old. I beat the crap out of him.  Your bike is your life when you're a kid. Some scum stole my and my brothers bikes when we were kids. The insurance guy told my parents to go buy us new ones. We were glad they took our old ones after that.
