By chance, they discovered the library's oldest authentic copy of the Constitution of the United States (printed in 1825). Both men were stunned to see this document included a 13th Amendment that no longer appears on current copies of the Constitution. Moreover, after studying the Amendment's language and historical context, they realized the principle intent of this "missing" 13th Amendment was to prohibit lawyers from serving in government. So began a seven year, nationwide search for the truth surrounding the most bizarre Constitutional puzzle in American history -- the unlawful removal of a ratified Amendment from the Constitution of the United States. Since 1983, Dodge and Dunn have uncovered additional copies of the Constitution with the "missing" 13th Amendment printed in at least eighteen separate publications by ten different states and territories over four decades from 1822 to 1860. ... Dodge and Dunn now went to the Library of Congress and were allowed access to the rare book room. There they found an un-cataloged book entitled "The Revised Code of the Laws of Virginia", 1819. The amendment was there, listed as the Thirteenth Article of the U.S. Constitution. This, of course, indicated that a 13th state had indeed ratified the amendment, constituting a 3/4 majority of the states of the Union at the time the amendment was proposed... Anonymous Coward User ID: 68458 United States 01/31/2006 08:37 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | OF course it was ratified. The Old Titles of Nobility Amendment, the real unrepealed 13th amendment. But what has always perplexed me is that very few even know it, very few realize that someone was able to effectivley brainwash the masses of American into not protesting nor rrealizing that anything was disappeared. Without the ratified OLD 13th of 1810 and there abouts being upheld by THIS government, no one since then has truly upheld his oath of office to defend and uphold the constitution. NO ONE. The War of 1812 was all about surpressing and destroying this amendment. It was believed to be anti-British. What people don't get it that all it says and prohibits is that Congress must first approve before some US Citizen in an office of Trust and Profit accepts the title of King of France, or Britian, or Catmandoo. It does not prohibition GWB for instance from being crowned King of England while still POTUS, only that he must first get the approval of Congress. The problem is that US Citizens in offices of Trust and Profit of the United States today would more than likley not even bother to get the approval of Congress before they accept their title of Knight Commander of the British Empire. |
