Why are you turning Hebrew into English? Wouldn't it just be easier to fully translate his name directly "I am that I am" or is that too silly?
Redundant..or so it seems.
Quoting: Chip Maybe because that is not His name. "I am that I am" is based on the Hebrew verb "hayah". It's one main meaning is "to exist". Hebrew verbs are not stuck in time with a past, present or future tense. So when Yah used the word "hayah" to describe Himself, He was telling Moses to tell the people that He was real. I was, I am, I will always be. I exist. (hayah) In the same passage He goes on and tells Moses His name, YHWH-Yahowah. HalleluYah! yes and any one who is aware of the inner god presence and working to become LIKE the Father is I AM THAT I AM. Thus what is under my user name.
