To succeed, the United Nations depends on the peoples of the world :-). The UN can never be strengthened while countries such as the US, Russia and a few others have undisputed veto power for any resolutions. This power is what gives Israel Carte Blanche to genocide the Palestinian people since the US veto's any sanctions or resolutions imposed against Israel, or Israel blatantly ignores them with the nodding approval of the US.
