Just wanting to know...................

Many say Egyptian Civilization is actually OLDER than the Sumerians.........also, the Egyptian Gods are way more interesting to me, at least.

Could Setchin be wrong?

Were we actually created by Ra and his kin?

Or otherwise? Waiting for an answer..........

Re: Are the Egyptian Gods really the Sumerian Gods or the Opposite?
Taking it literal is like trying to find a being called "god" under a rock. Every myth and religion synchronize to make a story about the workings of our solar system earth seasons and galaxy along with the inner workings of the soul Rah is no more than old man kronos or zueses father his son osiris is jesus set is satan. Rah is god his sun osiris is the sun he fights set in a eternal battle night and day. he judges you every winter only so you can be born again with all life around you during the spring. the four seasons in chistianity is mark mathew luke and john the four main gospels based around christ's our suns journey. their are many similarity's between just the two story's of existence its just reading between the lines is what it takes to realise the beautiful syncatic relation they share with you.

Try not to get tangled up in the literal renditions they are mere story's for children, and as the child gets older his father would start to explain how they really relate to reality.

They're one and the same. The name change basically came when the rulership of one was replaced by another and that one implemented his system. If you want it in literal names, according to Sithchen, Enlil held dominion over the affairs of his kind and mankind for a long period tied into certain zodiac cycles. When Marduk, his nephew, became the head guy in charge, he renamed everybody according to how he wanted to run things and have history recorded. He named himself Ra and made the sun his symbol and everything and everyone fell under him. So they were the same beings, just renamed with new ranks; some higher, some lower, but all still "the gods".

Yes, within certain periods, with sons who took on the roles after. These periods could be hundreds of years long as they were long lived. In Mexico, the et called Mixcoatl lived in a small enclave, and parked his sky car in the drive. But, when he traveled to the American SW, he wore differnt garb and mask and they called him by a different name.

His father did the same.

the egyptian gods are descendants of Enki

the sumerian gods are mostly descendants of Enlil

Some people get great joy from learning a variety of things. Some people get great joy from reading, whether it be about sports, science fiction, cooking or history, just to name a few topics. To suggest to someone that a quest for knowledge, information, another point of view is something that would not evolve them is kinda limited. It's wonderful that you have found a way that best assists you in evolving. Now evolve a little more and don't discourage this person's method of growing and evolving. Instead, encourage them and also offer the benefit of your experience. This person was merely seeking a possible answer to a question, not advice on how to do something harmful and detrimental to themselves or others. The more of your mind you can unlock, the more you evolve. Seeking new information, whether out of necessity or just sheer curiosity, is a wonderful way to do so.

OP, seek knowledge from the cradle to the grave. You are here for whatever you decide you are here for.

some of them never belonged to the sumerian pantheon, however.

like the younger gods, such as Horus, Osiris, Seth or Isis and many others. they should be called by the true names.

Ningishzidda is only his Title. His name is Toth.

Marduk used RA as a title, Marduk is his name.

the others you may address as you wish, though their older names are their sumerian names. Enki/Ea/Nidimud, Ninti/Ninmah/Ninharsag/Sud.

Enlil, and Ninurta and the rest of Enlil's descendants had no place in the egyptian pantheon.

ALL of them and their tales and exploits were misinterpreted and renamed as the entire greek pantheon. Many single entities take on several identities in the greek myths.

You're welcome. As for your other question, the main significance in knowing the Sumerian names would basically be that those are the actual names they came here with and not just another renaming. If the tablets have been translated correctly, those are the names they were given at birth on their own planet.

Jackal headed god in Sumerian culture known as Anu
Jackal headed god in Eqyptian culture known as Anubis

Same god different names in different culture, its quite common in ancient cultures to take names, storys, myths and legends from one culture and adapt them into new a set of names and myths. Its what the romans did too, they took gods and goddesses and gave them new names and incorparted them into their cultural dna.

Re: Are the Egyptian Gods really the Sumerian Gods or the Opposite?
The Sumerian gods and the Egyptian gods are one and the same. Even an Egyptian priest told this to his Greek counterpart and said that the Greeks will forever remain a young civilization because the Greeks did not understand that the Egyptian gods and the Greeks gods are also one and the same, going back ten thousands of years.

The Pyramids were built some ten thousand years ago, after the flood. Prior to this, there is history of the Ancient times and the gods of those days as well, and prior to this, there is even more undated history, barely touched upon by the Sumerian Kings list which lists Kings that ruled for as long as 28,000 years and so forth.

From Sitchins view, which I agree with, we are told that the Sumerian gods, the Anunnaki have a life span of 120 years, on their planet, Nibiru. Here, on earth that translates into 430,000 of our years.

Keep that in the back of your head.

For us eternity to eternity is one astrological cycle of 24,000 years, called Ages. To get a better picture, look at a 24 hour clock..same thing.

So, you can imagine this is nothing but one day for the Anunnaki beings. Every morning when you wake up, you renew yourself by taking a bath, combing your hair, putting on new clothes etc...it's the same thing with the Anunnaki. They do it every 24,000 years and we do it every 24 hours.

Though you are in the world, you are not of it.

Re: Are the Egyptian Gods really the Sumerian Gods or the Opposite?
the egyptian gods are descendants of Enki

the sumerian gods are mostly descendants of Enlil

the elder egyptian gods all had their own names in the sumerian pantheon, however : Toth/Ningishzidda, Ra/Marduk, Ptah/Enki...

as well, Hathor/Ninharsag

Are they "better" in their Sumerian manifestations?

Should I just refer to them by their Sumerian names?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 18622835

some of them never belonged to the sumerian pantheon, however.

like the younger gods, such as Horus, Osiris, Seth or Isis and many others. they should be called by the true names.

Re: Are the Egyptian Gods really the Sumerian Gods or the Opposite?
Jackal headed god in Sumerian culture known as Anu
Jackal headed god in Eqyptian culture known as Anubis

Same god different names in different culture, its quite common in ancient cultures to take names, storys, myths and legends from one culture and adapt them into new a set of names and myths. Its what the romans did too, they took gods and goddesses and gave them new names and incorparted them into their cultural dna.
