the egyptian gods are descendants of Enki
the sumerian gods are mostly descendants of Enlil
the elder egyptian gods all had their own names in the sumerian pantheon, however : Toth/Ningishzidda, Ra/Marduk, Ptah/Enki...
Quoting: enkite 28308154 as well, Hathor/Ninharsag Quoting: enkite 28308154 Are they "better" in their Sumerian manifestations? Should I just refer to them by their Sumerian names? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 18622835 some of them never belonged to the sumerian pantheon, however. like the younger gods, such as Horus, Osiris, Seth or Isis and many others. they should be called by the true names. Ningishzidda is only his Title. His name is Toth. Marduk used RA as a title, Marduk is his name. the others you may address as you wish, though their older names are their sumerian names. Enki/Ea/Nidimud, Ninti/Ninmah/Ninharsag/Sud. Enlil, and Ninurta and the rest of Enlil's descendants had no place in the egyptian pantheon. ALL of them and their tales and exploits were misinterpreted and renamed as the entire greek pantheon. Many single entities take on several identities in the greek myths.
