I fuckin' love to cook... it's fun. I am bettering myself at it ALL the time, and my man fuckin' loves it. Of course I do the cleaning bullshit too, I love coitus, AND I don't think a woman should EVER be in a position of authority when it comes to serious matters, like states or nations.


I love being a female!!! We've got it hard and so do men!!! So I say let's have it hard together!!! Real hard!!!

I think it's important for a woman to keep current on her training in case she is in the position where she has to take care of herself (and maybe kids). However, if a couple can afford for one of them to stay home with the kids (it doesn't matter if it's the man or woman), and that person is actually parenting and taking care of the home, that's probably preferable for a happy home and marriage, and successful, well-adjusted kids.

The problem is that most women probably would like to be able to stay home and take care of the house and kids. But that is not financially possible for them. They get very jealous of those who do stay home and make fun of them and treat them like they are lazy, brainless, and entitled soccer moms. This makes being a house wife less fulfilling than it probably should be - when your job is treated as unnecessary.

I've been both a stay-at-home mom and a working mom. I have always said that you either pay early or you pay late for your kids - but you will pay.

I stayed home with my kids from the time my oldest was three until she entered high school. Then, I went back to work. I was there to watch them like a hawk and to make sure they were doing what was necessary to become successful adults. We sacrificed. But, my daughter is working on a PhD in engineering and my son is graduating with a ME (engineering) degree with highest honors this spring and already has job offers. My friends who worked? Most of their kids are duds. I'm not saying you can't be a good parent and work - it's just much harder.

Please don't think we are all unreasonable witches just because some of us are. Real, secure, honest women HATE flighty, demanding, uncompromising ones, they give us all a bad name!

As soon as we have the space, my husband will absolutely have his man-cave, and he knows that I need a little spot of my own as well.

And as for the OP's dilemma, I agree with him. Women today seem to think that they are being weak if they embrace the role of housewife/mother, whereas I believe that a woman should have the right to do any job she is capable of doing, be it @ home or out in the working world.

I would have loved to stay home and be with my kids full time but I had to work to pay the bills.

My husband (ex now) couldn't make enough to swing it. He went from job to job anyway, there were times I had to work 2 jobs. Being a full time housewife and mom is probably the hardest job there is.

Get a new friend, this one sounds angry and unstable.

Totally missed that OP was female - duh! It sounded like a bf/gf argument.

I'm pretty freakin' old, and was what you'd call a traditional homemaker for much of my adult life. I went back to school after my kids were grown, and I couldn't believe the attitude of most of the girls (early 20's). Many of them seem to hate men, but worst of all, they ACT like men. Aggressive, uncouth, potty-mouth etc.,. Not a shred of femininity at all. I can't imagine them being wives and mothers, but many of them are. It was the aggression though that really bothered me. I don't know if there's something in the food, the fact that they played a lot of sports growing up, sense of entitlement, or what, but they are an odd breed. Needless to say this doesn't apply to all of them, but there are many.

Nothing wrong with staying home. Or working for that matter. To each his own.

That kind of rage usually comes from a dark place like fear, jealousy or insecurity. She is obviously not a self reflective person, so stay clear of her. Very interesting how so many people think that their particular beliefs suddenly make it "fact" and they are "right". It's an opinion, and we are all free to have them. I expect many in the end to be faced with the reality that their opinions of which they defended by offending were off. How embarrassing to face God with the new found knowlegde that (abortion, for example!) is wrong and not only did you encourage it, but you were an asshole to people about it. jmho
