Even if your life ends 2 years sooner than it otherwise would have, you will likely still spend just as much on "health" care in the 2 years preceding your death.

Your suggestion that the government simply wants to "have people die" sooner to save money is retarded. You do realize it's the PEOPLE paying those bills right? TAXES.

Think about this from another angle:

Why do people usually die 2 years after they start getting treatment (as evidenced by medicare spending)?

If you think that there won't be decision panels (ie who do we spend money on) I personally think you are deluding yourself. Of course health care costs go up on anyone in the last 2 years of their life.

If you are totally healthy, but suddenly have something bad happen to you.....a bunch of health care costs happen to
you.

I'm healthy....but then you get cancer...we spend a bunch to fix you, but you die....lots of money
You're healthy but you have a heart attack...we spend a bunch of money on you, but we can't fix you and you die...lots of money.

How many people die quietly in their bed anymore??? Not many. So to say most people have a great amount of money spent in their last 2 years of life is to me like.... NO DUH!!!

If you get some potentially lethal problem...its probably near the end of your life. Why would you spend a whole bunch of health care dollars when you are "healthy" and doing fine??? There are just so many screening tests that can be done to detect early problems. Even then, people still get shit after you screen them

There is no magicacal "scan" that clears you of every disease process known. I wish there was, would make my life alot easier

As I have stated before, it still comes down to taking care of people. If I have to see people in my living room, I guess that is what it will come to pass

the cancer treatment will kill you

the heart disease / high cholesterol treatment will kill you

the type 2 diabetes treatment will kill you

no treatment that works for alzheimers

Obamacare is basically a tax hike.

Our state has opted out of the heath plan. What does this mean for us? Won't health insurance companies based in pro health care states be forced to follow the health care plan? Will they then force us to follow the plan as well?

A lot of Acute Myocardial infarction patients do great (I know...had a acute MI in 2004....cost my insurance $50,000) but it hasn't killed me in 8 yrs)

what I'm saying is that past a certaine age...you don't get emergency heart cath with angioplasty....you get shit.

What age? I don't know yet. say you are a 62 YO guy who works like a MF: you pay taxes and you run a business and you hustle. But you are a smoker and overweight. Well you are a "drain to sceity" so you get no agressive treatment.

But you are a 46 yo person who is on "disability" but you don't smoke or have any "disqualifing habits" , you get the full money of treatment.
Does that seem correct?????

I have had insurance forever but I still go to my out of loop Doctor who only takes cash, he does not take insurance but will give me papers to file for myself should I wish to do so.

A visit with him is $75 but he will sit there and chat with me and my husband for an hour about everything when he isn't over booked. He's a great guy and a supreme doctor.

Insurance almost killed his own wife, she had a bad kidney infection and since insurance demands the doctors do certain tests before moving onto the next test, this takes time. Time she didn't really have to spare. This was just another case of insurance playing doctor. His wife was near death.
She barely survived before the final results came back even though everyone already knew her kidney was bad.

He has personally saved my life on 3 occasions from double lung walking pneumonia because he gave me strong antibiotics before even any lab tests were done.

I grew complacent once and put off seeing him and ended up in critical care on a bi-pap machine in the hospital for 11 days and almost died, to the tune of 8 grand out of pocket.

So $75 bucks is nothing!

I also buy my medications now from foreign sources and I am doing much better now than when I was just going to a regular insurance accepting Doctor.

If my good Doctor thinks something will cure me he doesn't have to run it buy insurance to get permission before starting treatment.

Screw Obamacare!
They can still take insurance out of my husband's paycheck but that doesn't mean we have to use it.

As we age and get to old to afford US healthcare we will retire abroad some where, maybe near Mexico city, MX as they have good doctors there, and dentists and even plastic surgury are well priced.

and the BEST PART? Muslims and illegals get it all for FREE!!!!!!!!!

Since I spent some years earlier on gaining skill in READING COMPREHENSION, I can tell you that it is not a description of Obamacare, but some hypothetical system of preventive care that the author is having a sort of wet dream about.

I would suggest that we consider the consequences of such a strategy. At a minimum it would require some sort of registration with our friends, the government. At worse it could lead to some sort of terrible consequences in the future when the government decides to use the registration database for its own purposes.

My wife uses a chiropracter once a month for spinal adjustment. Swears by them. im retired but if I had to do it again, I would consider chiropract or physical therapy.

as a chiropractor, I can tell you not a single person, professional or trade magazine, newletter has responded to what it means for us. I am sure it is the end of our already dwindling profession. Lower and lower insurance reimbursements will pale in comparison to what is coming. Nothing good has ever come from govt regulation of any industry, ours is already on the ropes in so many ways this will just be the ender more than likely.

There is a documentary called "Doctored" you should check it out, I think they have it online for free. It tells who are the real quacks in the sickcare industry. Really eye opening experience.
