It's a stupid question. People have been preparing for the worse since we came out of the caves.

If you like the idea of dying...don't prep...see if I give a fuck.

Re: To prep or not to prep that is the question?
It always amazes me how delusional some people are. Not a clue or clueless as to what its going to be like after a Pole Shift cause thats whats coming.

Better just to worry about survival for the first couple of years. Water. Shelter and food in that order.

Pole Shift Ning site without a doubt has to be the most informative site as to where the safe zones will be and what you will need and what to do to survive.

I don't give a shit that they have thrown into the mix Planet X. Thats redundant. Pole Shifts have happened before and we are on the verge of one right now. The poles have migrated 40 degrees for what ever reason that caused it and thats the RED ZONE. The tipping point. Were there already.

Just get ready to survive with a solid plan somwhere safe for a couple of years and then you can rebuild all your industrial disease as you please.

I f your not part of a group already with a plan in place its just about to late in the game. Most people have already waited far too long to start. Years behind some of us. Just waking up too it now well I think your shit out of luck unless you pull it together starting right now.

Are you talking about a magnetic polar shift, or a displacement of the Earth's crust?

I'm more concerned about economic collapse.

Which do you think is more likely in our lifetimes?

Re: To prep or not to prep that is the question?
You are a little late to start thinking about it now, but...
Think in terms of love not fear and trust in Divine Guidance
Follow intuitive guidance on where you need to be and when.
Prepare spiritually by asking in your heart for forgiveness for any harm you may have done to others and forgive anyone else who may have caused you harm.
Take normal precautions just like in any case of a natural disaster, Have water, brown rice, beans, and lentils in storage, and other things that are edible without cooking like granola bars, soup, can opener.
Be prepared in case electricity goes out, candles or lanterns, blankets etc. ( I have a hand winding/ solar lantern).
Camping supplies, tents, backpacks, tools and toiletries
A fire starter
Get Organic Seeds (hybrid plants don't grow from seed the second time around)
Know how to grow a garden and save seeds
Get books with basic knowledge like "Back to Basics" or "survival guide"
Know how to distill water
know basic survival skills like how to start a fire, how to build a lean-to, identifying edible plants
Be somewhere away from large cities, in a rural place near an open preserve or in nature, elevated
Know where clean, natural water sources are near you
Know where sources of edible wild foods are near you
Think of anything that may happen as an adventure.
Greet new challenges and information with openness and excitement.
Accept divine help and guidance and open your heart and mind.
... or.... not, your choice.

As we have seen in recent history, economic collapse and natural disasters are always likely... so it's always wise to prepare.

Re: To prep or not to prep that is the question?
Well, I have another question:

If we are prepping for shtf, what exactly type of Shit are we prepping for?!?! I know, dumb question! We are trying to prep for ANY type of scenario, but here's my issue with that....some types of disaster scenarios require sequestration (isolationism), staying "underground" and away from toxic elements (plague or germ warfare)for a short term. Other types of disasters are going to require a different type of preparation (EMP, Nuclear attack)and/or a longer time spent in isolation/away from others or away from a "hot" zone.

Does this makes sense?

I guess I'm saying, "Yes, I am prepping, but I'm having a hard time believing I will need to prep for a YEAR!" I just think if it's THAT bad, I DOUBT most of us could survive a year, unless one lives in a very remote place, and most of us don't. If you live in a city, and try to stay OFF the radar - I DOUBT seriously that anyone can stay OFF the radar for a year, unless they are ALREADY off the radar......
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 25676821

You could prepare for being underground but what if while your prepared for all that an earthquake comes and closes the mountain or ground as it predicts in the bible. Or what if water fills your hole? Do you have scuba gear, rock paving explosives! The bible tells you what you need to prepare!

Economic collapse will occur in 2015 and Obama will fall from grace shortly. Not sure how but he will. Could be impeachment could be any of a number of things. Again mark my words 2015 complete economic collapse and Obama will fall from grace before his term is up!

Excellent posts for most of you but the few that cared to share their ignorance are part of the many that will be begging for what you have or dying in attempts of getting it .
As for the polar shift that is currently taking place fact is airports have had to shut down to recallorbrate their equipment do to the shift in the poles
The economic collapse is also taking place ... Quietly but happening that's why Egypt declared what it did and Mexico followed shot in eliminating it's states )31) of them to be exact (who knew) and now it's just Mexico and china recently expanded it's boarders.... Check it out or look it up for yourselves
So which comes first ... Is the question and the polar alignment is gonna take presidence over the economic collapse butthats just logical.

Re: To prep or not to prep that is the question?
Again preparing for shelter underground is wise only if you can guarantee it will not be flooded or engulfed in land.

If there you are preparing for Nuclear Bomb hitting. The best places to be are directly under it or as far away as possible from it. Anywhere else is the slow death scenario. For this type of preparation you must think of possible targets.

Any cities, airports, military bases, food supply, water supply, highways/major roads, any kind of factory or buildings that could house and turn into a factory. Electrical grids/ power/fuels sources. Hope that helps some!!

If your still clinging to the internet and cell phones and TV.

TRUST ME YOUR NOT PREPARED!!

Give it a rest. I believe in god but I prep. I have always believed that God Helps Those Whom Help Themselves.

7th day adventists also hoard and prep. Were not Idiots. We know that the bible is stories and meant to be used as a guide not taken litterally.

Its not Christians that believe in the rapture anyways. Its jehovia wittness'es that do. Get it straight in your head. There are many versions of Christianity.

Just ask the people who just experienced hurricane Sandy and their Federal saviors FEMA if you want to know if you should prep.

A 25 lb bag or white rice and a 25 lb bag of pinto bean's cost less than $30, and is a complete nutritional balance. Add to that a $15 water bob bag, which can hold 120 gallons of fresh water and you are set for at least a couple of months.

If you want entertainment and variety, prep more. But don't say you cant do it.

Prep or die.

Excellent point. It doesn't take much and you don't need huge storages ... In fact a true prepper travels light as in what can be carried on your back. Basically where and or even how the catastrophe strikes is unknown. It could be ground zero right where your bug out local is.
So travel light packet tight and logically basics food water light shelter(tarps) and protection ( bat blade or gun ) and be mobile as the very real possibility of tectonic shift is going to have many ground zeros and mass hysteria .
