Message Subject To prep or not to prep that is the question?

Well, I have another question:

If we are prepping for shtf, what exactly type of Shit are we prepping for?!?! I know, dumb question! We are trying to prep for ANY type of scenario, but here's my issue with that....some types of disaster scenarios require sequestration (isolationism), staying "underground" and away from toxic elements (plague or germ warfare)for a short term. Other types of disasters are going to require a different type of preparation (EMP, Nuclear attack)and/or a longer time spent in isolation/away from others or away from a "hot" zone.

Does this makes sense?

I guess I'm saying, "Yes, I am prepping, but I'm having a hard time believing I will need to prep for a YEAR!" I just think if it's THAT bad, I DOUBT most of us could survive a year, unless one lives in a very remote place, and most of us don't. If you live in a city, and try to stay OFF the radar - I DOUBT seriously that anyone can stay OFF the radar for a year, unless they are ALREADY off the radar......

Excellent point being that there are a number of various plausible possibilities, solitude would be the option ( for your survival party) to minimize any interaction with the have nots or infected.
Pending scenario of disater there is the inevitable sick, and with medical shortages it would be essential to limit any contact with "outsiders"
Again why there should be a national bug out plan per region for the prepared all else .... Had their opportunity and wasted it
