If you do, then 2 weeks or a month on decaf will fix that and you can go back to the good stuff till the dizziness comes back and then repeat the decaf. Last Edited by MHz on 11/24/2012 08:40 PM |

It is getting ridiculous now and I find myself having 15 cups of coffee a day. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27901966 It is affecting my social life and me as a person. I am feeling depressed and only caffeine seems to help me survive. I want to get rid of it, but can't ! I tried everything possible such as reducing the coffee intake slowly, but that lasted only for a few days and my addiction for coffee grew even stronger. Are there any tried and tested methods available to get rid of this addiction ? I drink 5 pots a day thats... 50 cups a day i consume ur daily 15 cups for breakfast. I fricking love coffee _______________________ |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 28412729 I only recently came across this condition that the 'quiz' is for, I'm betting more people suffer from this than is widely known. One sign is refusing to acknowledge it as being possible so getting treated for it just never, ever happens, right to the grave and suicide sometimes is the path to the grave so it isn't a bullshit condition. Green tea is excellent to detox along with just drinking lots of water. Your body is probably dehydrated not getting the water it needs and your liver is working over-time. For the depression - vitamin B complex and royal jelly capsules. And If you have a juicer (2 carrots, 2 apples, handful of spinach, slice of lemon) every morning before any decaf coffee. Follow later with water and then green tea. Glass of water before bed also is good for the heart. Why expresso? Small cup of strong coffee (with half and half optional) satisfies the craving. Not unless your willing to lock yourself in a room so no-one else has to deal with the evil that you become. Start by switching a couple cups a day to tea or Emergen - C . Most people drink them when they are trying to avoid a cold, but they work better then coffee for giving a burst of energy. After a week, switch more coffee to tea (or something else.) |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 24279842 Canada 11/24/2012 09:05 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I quit caffeine about three years ago. I stopped drinking coffer because I had a lung infection and the caffeine was making it harder for me to breathe. It's a bad drug -- poison, actually. The withdrawal I went through proved how bad of a drug poison it was. Had horrible headaches for two weeks and then felt as if I were in a fog for about three months. Had to sip hot spring water in the morning just to pretend I was drinking coffee. Otherwise, I couldn't wake up. Don't need to do that anymore, and have no cravings at all for that nasty drug. I wake up every morning ready and 'rarin' to go. I also gave up alcohol just before I gave up caffeine. I found the two tended to go together (coffee in the daytime; alcohol after dark), so after the nightly alcohol sessions were history, I no longer needed the caffeine to tide me over the next morning. The first step is wanting to get off it, and you've clearly taken that step. From here on in, it's just time. If your body craves a quick boost, give it fresh-squeezed organic juices (lemon in water or orange juice are the best) or suck on some hard organic candy for a sugar jolt. Also read everything you can find about how bad caffeine is for your health. Caffeine is VERY bad for your health. After you get 'clean', you won't ever want to fall back into caffeine dependency again. It's just not worth it. HORRIBLE drug, caffeine. So socially acceptable, but so addictive and bad for you. Yes, coffee tastes good, but that's just the superficial 'hook' to get you hooked. Take away the taste, and all you're left with is a cheap and nasty neurotoxin whose sole purpose is to poison you. |

I fricking love coffee Jeezus, at that point meth might be safer. Lol Your not kidding. I used to consume a couple pots a day, really way to much. Its possible that you may be self-medicating for an underlying mental problem. I'm very adhd and was untreated for most of my life. I while back (years) I started regularly taking dextroamphetamine, legally with a doctor etc. In anycase I found the combination of the caffeine plus the dex, to be way too much, and I stopped consuming any kind of caffeine for the first time since I started when I was about 12. Anyway I have since found that caffeine is a rotten chemical, and makes my adhd symptoms much worse. One problem with caffeine is that its chemically addicting as well as psychologically addicting, unlike amphetamines. Its one of the hardest addictions to break, its very, very easy to relapse and be right back where you started, even after months of not having any. |

It fooled my system; maybe you'll get the same results! Good luck! |

ALL of your bodies cells need magnesium, and without it we slow/run down, as the mitochondria ( energy makers in EVERY cell ) can't keep cell functioning properly. Buy some over the counter, and start tomorrow. The caffeine will ac t on you like lack of liquor to an alcoholic, and crave more. KEEP BUSY, and always have something to do till you sleep, and the body/brain relax. Takes a while. GLP Dr. 'Uncle' , lol ! |

HBP too, and other health problems. You will need to be motivated to just stop and get onto something else, like healthy water. Coffee is just the opposite of water, a diuretic. |
