I Am Having A Bad Day

I am so sorry for you Tiger. I am getting old myself and feel your pain. The golden years are not golden at all, they are more black than golden. Love to you my good friend.

They are lonely. The last close friend of the circle is all the way in Texas, a very long way from Northwest Indiana. I still can't believe I have outlived all of my close friends except for my buddy in Texas. Everyone of those friends lost, except for1, were health nuts, didn't smoke, drink, excercised, ate right, etc. Here I am, still kicking, and I was rather reckless in my uncouth youth.

Thank you, friend. The tears are freely flowing. I knew this was coming, but not this soon. She was just diagnosed a little over a month ago. The doctors told her 2-4 months without chemo, and 4-6 months with chemo. She started chemo, but IMO, it made her weaker and shortened her time. She had a fast moving stomach cancer.

I am much older than you and I was very reckless as well. It just seems that no matter what life style people lead, when their time is up they go anyway. I guess the point here is to live it up and take what comes when it comes. We only get one shot at life and I intend to leave this world tired with few regrets as possible. Don't let loneliness overtake you at this time, live the life the others did not get the chance to live.

Where the fuck do you live in that nobody reaches 60?
Grief sucks but really it is normal for about a month and then you can start to comfort yourself that they are no longer in pain and it won't be long before you are with them again. (nobody left behind is a theme God has also)

PS I hate it when my question is answered in the previous post. lol

All of us lived on the north side of my community, a polluted area which is now getting cleaned up. The Grand Calumet River, which was on the south edge of our old neighborhood, used to be so polluted, that anyone who happened to fall into it, used to die from the poisons in the river, not from drowning. They started to clean up the area about 15 years ago. The cancer rate for our old neighborhood and the surrounding area is very high.

18 months after losing my husband, I lost my sister. She was best friend and confidant.

It was grief on top of grief.

The passing of time does heal the wound your heart receives when a loved one is taken away, but a scar always remains.

I thought I was completely over the emotion of my husband gone, but even after 7 years I found myself in tears again just recently.

Jesus was/is my strength during the times I felt truly alone. The love of good friends was soothing for my soul, too,
and I'm eternally grateful for those who offered an ear to listen and a shoulder for me to cry on.

I pray that you will receive the same.

I'm so sorry Tiger. I lost my husband a few years back and then 2 years ago my sister and last year my best friend of 35 years so I do know what you mean about losing so many. My older sister was just 56 and oddly so was my friend.

Here it's all heart attacks! Sudden and unexpected and as you said in people with healthy lifestyles.

I still miss them but it does get easier with the passage of a little bit of time. And I still have my kids and my sweet doggie. So my life is full even with all the losses and yours will be again, too. Stay busy as you can do the things you enjoy most until you are feeling better.

Thank you, Bluebird. I really do stay busy, and I think that is just what I need right now, to help me get through this. I am glad I have my husband, kids, and grandkids, and all of my pets. Nothing, though, can replace a good friend who knew all of your secrets, and KEPT them.
