Re: I Am Having A Bad Day
Late this morning, I lost another friend to cancer, one of my last 2 remaining oldest friends. Over the past few years, almost all the friends in my immediate circle have died of cancer. Here I am, going to be 59 next month, and I have outlived all of my close friends except for one. Gee, if I was in my 80's, something like this would not be out of the ordinary, but at this age, this is just unreal.
The friend who died this morning, has been like a big sister to me all these years. She always had a listening ear to my calamnities, and a safe refuge, if needed. She has stood by my side through thick and thin. I am going to miss her so much. verysad

I am hanging in there, and crying less. Time will heal the wound, but the scar will stay.
I have plenty of distraction here with the kids, grandkids, and most of all, my husbands health. He is not doing real good. The emphysema is really kicking his tail. He has to go for a SSD doctor appointment this friday,to check to see just how bad his lungs are. SSD is really putting my husband through the wringer. I sure hope he gets approved for disability.

Re: I Am Having A Bad Day
OP i am very sorry for your loss. We have just lost 3 non related by blood, family members in 2 years to cancer. They were all young - 29, 42, 47.

I truly know how you feel. Not just the sorrow but the disbelief, then the fear of 'are you next' and all the emotions that go along with grief.

I think it is more like survival guilt, like "why am I still here?" I look at all the friends and family that I have lost, and I was the reckless one, and they were the cautious ones.

Your perspective is easy to understand many such as me are risk takers and I can only conclude that people like us still have things to accomplish.

I guess to look on the bright side, in a wicked way, I have also outlived most of my enemies. gasp

That's all that's good about getting older than dirt, lol.
