I ran a 4:18 mile my senior year. When they announced my name at the rally everyone exploded. I was bangin hot chicks, throwing the best parties, gettin straight A's. and college got even better. I got lots of applause but I never got the clap. |

Sixty years ago all social activity took place around the local school and the entire community would turn out. Every year there was a talent contest for anyone who wanted to enter. I decided I would enter and sing a song which included a yodel. No music...........just me. I stood there and belted it out and WON the whole thing. Beating out high school kids, jazz bands, tap dancers, etc. I was the proudest 9-year old girl ever. The winner was selected as the "mc" held his hand over our head and the audience would applaud. Who ever had the loudest and sometimes longest response WON. I had forgotten all about this but thanks for the opportunity to remember. |
