Why Wouldn't God Want Adam and Eve to Have Knowledge of Good and Evil?

These replies are all WRONG. They obviously don't have wisdom in GOD.
The reason GOD punished Man for eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, actually had nothing to do with knowledge, good, OR evil. It was because Man was supposed to be on a STRICT, low calorie diet. The woman, Eve, craved some badass fruit from this tree, and once they started eating it, they couldn't stop.
They got fat ass hell, and all they would do was eat this one fruit, from this tree, so God punished them.

During the time when the Old Testament was written, people were soley to eat from the seed bearing trees... fruit, vegetables, seeds, legumes, etc. It was only until after the "fall" of man that a decree was issued that we were now able to eat meat. Look up, Jesus was part of the Essenes. The Essenes were thought to be vegetarians. Where the fall of man came from was when we started eating the flesh of another animal species.
