You could get a parallel bible which has 2 versions side by side on the same page so you can get instant comparison for clearer understanding.

The Authorized King James Version is God's Word in the English language. Every other version is Satan attempting to thwart, overthrow, and deceive the Word of God. I got saved with a NIV and over the years have been brought to the KJV kicking and screaming, only to finally stop resisting what the Holy Spirit was trying to lead me to and have been with the KJ ever since. Pick up any version you have that is not the AKJV and flip to 2 Samuel 21.19. They have someone other than David killing Goliath. Flip to 1 John 5.7. Most counterfeit versions delete this verse completely. Now go to 1 Peter 3.18. Read it in KJ then the other versions. Does baptism make you clean? Or, are you spiritually clean, so you go get baptized as an act of obedience and good conscience toward God? These are just a very few examples, there are endless examples of tampering. The New Age versions are so perverse it is sickening and it is blatant. Thousands of words and hundreds (or thousands, depending on which) of verses have been deleted or seriously changed. The old archaic language is like that for a reason. The words have meaning and so does the punctuation. I am thoroughly convinced that the KJV is the inspired, infallible, inerrant Word's of the Living God and every other English Bible is a corrupt attempt to steal the Scriptures from our lives. That is just my humble opinion though :)

The Aramaic English New Testament is going to be about as close as you can get.

Your biggest obstacle is throwing out ALL the garbage you have been indoctrinated with from your Torahless "churches".

Read in CONTEXT, do NOT add, do NOT take away, and do NOT make it say what it does NOT.

Line everything up with the Torah and the Words of Yeshua. Throw out ALL your commentaries, trash the teachings of the so called "church fathers".

Seriously, if you want to know what YHVH'a Word means, ask YHVH/YaHWeH to show you His truth as He meant it to be understood. Now sit back as your world is turned upside down and the blinders are taken off. You will be amazed, the truth was there the whole time. You will be kicked out of your current "church system", but do NOT worry, they would have done the same to Yeshua and the original taught ones as well.

I would get all three versions.

I highly recommend, the New Living Translation.

For a greater understanding.

Also get the Amplified Bible.

And a KJV, so you can use Strong's Concordance.

This allows you to easily find the original Hebrew and Greek words.

What's really great about the KJV, there's a greater accuracy, and nothing is watered down.

A group of bishops in the council at Carthage in 397 A.D assembled the Bible. The actual books and chapters are credited to various prophets, apostles and disciples. But, the book as a whole was created by an assembly. They wanted to collect the most important Christian writings and histories into a single book that would be enough for any person to have all that they needed to study and understand God's message. They put together the Bible. They did not write it but they made it. Like an editor putting together a book of short stories or essays. There is no one person that wrote the Bible. Although some people say God wrote it this is untrue. The Bible is supposed to contain God's message but most of it is in the words of the people who did the writing. If you accept the notion that Jesus was God in the flesh, then you could say that the words of Jesus were part of what God "wrote." The same would apply to the instances where someone heard the Lord speak to them.

Generally speaking, Christians acknowledge that the exact phrasing was executed by human authors and transcribers, but that all the writing was inspired by God.

The King James is just another copy and that is the truth.

This bible has the Concordance numbering system in it with the greek and strongs concordance in the back. it also has the best margin notes i have ever seen...

I will give you a example!

Revelation 18:23

18:23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.

do you see the word sorceries in the above verse, well here is the definition from the back of my bible for that word:

AV - sorcery 2, witchcraft 1; 3

1) the use or the administering of drugs
2) poisoning
3) sorcery, magical arts, often found in connection with idolatry and
fostered by it
4) metaph. the deceptions and seductions of idolatry

from pharmakon (a drug, i.e. spell-giving potion); n m

AV - sorcerer 1; 1

1) one who prepares or uses magical remedies
2) sorcerer

Now how would you have known that that word meant pharmaceuticals if you did not look it up in the concordance?

The New Testament was written in Greek, so what would be the point of reading it translated into Aramaic? Can OP even read Aramaic? Can you?

The bible clearly says that Christians aren't supposed to live under the Law of Moses, so your obsession with the Torah is misplaced. (See Acts 15:1-31). You don't even obey all the old testament laws yourself, so why do you say that Christians are doing the wrong thing, when Christians aren't even supposed to obey the Law of Moses? Do you sacrifice two lambs every sabbath, as God commanded the Israelites to do in the Law of Moses?

OP you can read multiple versions at this website, pick out one you like:

Don't speak in generalities for all of Christendom, seeing how there are thousands of different sects, denominations and varieties. I believe the Bible is GOD's WORD because it says that His Word will never pass away and that it is totally trustworthy. I would hate to think that God cannot keep His promises, what a sad life that must be. My GOD is Truth and what He says IN HIS WORD, He does:

6 The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
7 Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.
Psalm 12.6-7

8 Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever:
Isaiah 30.8

25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.
1Peter1.25

21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
2Peter1.21

Those are just a few of the thousands of promises and FACTS that GOD has and always will give us His very WORDS.

Man - the whole deal is kind of a bummer!

The best english translation seems to the the KJV...but it bugs me to read that old english!

The NKJV seems to be "not as bad as the rest"...but still has translation problems...for example, check this out:

KJV -

John 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Now compare NKJV -

John 1:3 All things came into being through Him, and without Him not even one thing came into being that has come into being.

Notice the KJV says "...*by* Him all things..." verses NKJV or MKJV says "...through Him...."

Although "technically" both are a "correct" translation...the fact of the matter is that the NKJV / MKJV "could" present Jesus as an "agent" that was "used" for creation (as the JW's claim) or, do a comparison between versions on Matt 17:19-22 - most of the newer versions, including ESV, which totally bums me out, omit verse :21 althogether! Now if all you had was an ESV, or NIV or __________, fill in the blank, how would you know that some of the more cantankerous demons only come out by prayer and fasting?

I'm in the same boat as you...I use the MKJV and the ESV but I keep an interlinear Greek / English version open right next to both Bibles!

Freaking sucks doesn't it?

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 28418104

I too use the Strong's concordance. But here's where some get mixed up.

Although pharmaceuticals, was later derived from the word pharmakon, it's not the same thing.

The term "pharmakos" later became the term "pharmakeus" which refers to "a drug, spell-giving potion, druggist, poisoner, by extension a magician or a sorcerer."[4] A variation of this term is "pharmakon" a complex term meaning sacrament, remedy, poison, talisman, cosmetic, perfume or intoxicant.[5] From this, the modern term "pharmacology" emerged.[6]
[link to en.wikipedia.org]

The 'sorcerer' not only uses drugs / concoctions to harm people, but they also combine this with spells and incantations, which is more like a witchdoctor / shaman, and certainly not a pharmacist.

You just have to be careful, because we have a very dangerous habit of thinking of the commentaries as just as important as the Scripture they are explaining. I used to do the study Bible thing too, but too many times I caught myself letting the footnotes sway my understanding of the actual passage. I think a Thompson's Chain or a Strong's Bible is just fine, because you are actually using the Bible interpret itself, instead of some fallible human making assumptions...

Re: Picking the right bible? christians only please be respectfule
How stupid are y'all ... The unless hasn't been in tact for over 1400 years ... It's actively changed annually and updates are posted in USA today on the first of the year. Point is close the book and live . If a book is what you seek then seek truth where it is in the "Book of Light"
Or continue with your stupidity your choice either way the majority is gonna burn in he'll anyway.

Shalom,
Eliyah Ben Yisrael

An important consideration, about this Bible, and in particular a version written by 'Andrew Gabriel Roth'.

Came across this review.

[link to www.amazon.com]

It states, this version of the Bible pushes Netzari Doctrine, also it mentions that instead of a 'cross' the author and Bible version, is stating Jesus died on a stake, or a single long pole.

The review is for 'Aramaic English New Testament' by Mr. Roth. I need to do more research, since this may only apply to this version, by this author.
