Re: Bright Green 'Shooting Star'
I've seen two such green fireballs that look and act nothing like a shooting star. They move far too slowly to have entered the atmosphere at speeds that natural shooting stars do.

The green color and how slowly they move says to me they are man-made space junk re-entering and burning up in the atmosphere. The only metal I know that when burned puts off a green flame is copper. Copper is not found in most meteorites but it is found in wiring and electronics.

It burns green because of the nickel and copper in it. Iron burns yellow.

This fell straight down, and definitely did not move across the sky. Maybe Red Bull was setting a new skydiving record again.
