Bright Green 'Shooting Star' | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 9201288 United States 11/25/2012 03:24 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Heading west on OK Highway 51 in Tulsa, OK about an hour ago, I saw a very, very bright green light shoot straight down from the sky. It looked like it was about half of the size of the moon, and directly below it. Did anybody else see anything like this? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 6995527 I saw EXACTLY what you described about two weeks ago in Phoenix, AZ. Weird shit |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 6995527 United States 11/25/2012 03:29 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My friend who was driving didn't see it, and I just screamed "HOLY SH*T, WHAT THE F*CK!" I was freaking out. It happened so fast, but we were out in the country so there is no way it could have been a reflection of any sort. Oddly enough it happened as our conversation about religion strayed to Ancient Aliens. |

I'm too paranoid to say where. =P Yeah, exactly what you described. Was at the ER with mom to take care of grammy....went out for a smoke, and the SECOND we had sat down in the car to smoke...Bam. Lasted only a second, but was quite bright and yes, about half the size to full size of a full moon. We both just gaped wide eyed at each other. The leonids were last week *shrug*. It still didn't seem...gawd I don't want to say natural.....but yeah...it didn't seem natural. I realize that may sound stupid, but it just didn't look...right. I don't know. I wish I could say more about it, other than thank you two (so far-I haven't read ahead) for verifying what I saw.. Provided YOU'RE telling the truth.. damn this site and it's paranoia mongering. =P |

I've ready about "green flashes" around the moon, but all of those seem to appear like they are coming out of the moon. This definitely behaved like a shooting star, but dropped straight down, and was green. I saw close to the same thing 3 weeks ago in Stillwater, OK, facing east, except the light was white, not green. |

And I saw what seamed to be a shooting bright green star but this one like many people have said shot straight down to the earth. I couldn't explain it because this thing was Huge! No shooting star I've EVER seen had looked like that. And just about maybe 10 mins ago on the drive home I saw another one this one was BIGGER! OMG totally freaked out because of the size and i could see it perfectly!!!!!! |
Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 6995527 United States 11/25/2012 03:01 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Apparently I'm not the only one who saw this in Oklahoma, I found a couple other websites where people were reporting the same exact thing at the same time. After doing more research I'm convinced that it was a meteorite with a high amount of Nickel (burns green in the atmosphere), cool thing is they only account for 1-5% of meteorites, so it was a pretty rare thing to see. They're common with certain types of asteroids, and 2010 JK1 and 2007 VB188 are passing by today, so it's probably just fragments of them. |
