I'd be more more concerned with high powered hunting rifles, for that purpose lol. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 19623226 I thought that too. I think he's talking about the manufacturing facility where the winding is exposed before having that metal case surround it. Tell me what this tastes like... |

The scenario I heard posited a more powerful rifle; a good deer gun. It could be used to cut power to a large city. If there was really a terrorist threat here, it would have been done already. |

Yes, butt the ceramic insulators crack just like any other glass shot with a .22, just sayin'. It ain't super doom, but it's a pain in the ass. | Anonymous Coward User ID: 28147705 11/25/2012 01:04 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | why a .22? simple. cheapest ammo on the planet (you cant reload a round for as little as a .22 costs). very easily suppressed audio signature. available EVERYWHERE without raising an eyebrow, even if you purchase rounds by the thousands. arms that fire the round are considered basically harmless by even you "knowledgeable firearms experts" that talk lots of shit on this forum. pretty much accurate and reliable no matter what action type. can be purchased at yard sales, garage sales, off classified ads with no questions asked in many places. everybody has 1 (at least) so its use for nefarious purposes generates a list of suspects that matches the entries in the local phone book. |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 28353526 11/25/2012 01:14 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I heard somewhere a .22 round was just as dangerous to soft targets. Apparently the magic bullet theory is possible with a .22 round simply due to its lightweight, and will travel the path of least resistance. IE, victims describing being shot in the arm and the bullet lodging itself into the femoral artery. Very nasty, very detrimental. |
