Re: Vitamin C and L-Lysine - Complete Control of Cardiovascular Disease
Do you think high vitamin C intake would help atrial fibrillation?

So far they're using warfarin (blood thinner) and a beta-blocker to manage it, but I've been told they won't be able to normalize it.

It's not so bad on medication, not so apparent anyway - but they've got my heart slowed way down, to the point where they have trouble finding/hearing a pulse.

They usually blame their cheap stethoscopes, but I'm not stupid. I'm overmedicated.

I weigh 110 at 5'3" and continue to lose weight, though not as rapdly as before.

ANYWAY! I'd prefer vitamin C to all this other voodoo crap, but they say they cannot allow "home remedies" ... wtf... vitamins are home remedies now?

Sigh.

The video doesn't work well with my internet connection, otherwise I wouldn't be asking questions.

I have afib for the last seven years, since I don't like taking prescription drugs I only take them when I have an episode which happens about 6 – 8 times a month. The meds bring it back to normal in 12 – 24 hours. In the Spring of this year I switched my diet to become alkaline, I was on it for three months and during that time I had no afib episodes. After that I went back onto the Standard American Diet (SAD) and within a week the afib came back. Now my family convinced me to go back onto the alkaline diet. Three weeks now and still no afib attack. Google Dr. Robert Young if interested in becoming alkaline.

I take "Calm" for AF. When I don't take it for a couple months, the AF comes back and it takes a couple days to get rid of it again. "Calm" is magnesium carbonate and citric acid. I've read that most of us are deficient in magnesium as our soils have gotten so poor.

This is a great thread. I will be getting L-Lysine tomorrow to take with my fresh squeezed OJ!!

Re: Vitamin C and L-Lysine - Complete Control of Cardiovascular Disease
interesting, ill defiantly be reading more into this....

i was diagnosed with peripheral vascular disease which affects my lower legs.

sometimes while doing yard work my lower calf muscles on the out side of my legs will start to hurt and then cramp up.

my doctor said i need a better diet and more exercise but i get more exercise than most people do. she also put me on a med that's supposed to absorb some of the bad fat/cholesterol from my blood flow.

the thing is that im 35 years old and said i really shouldn't have this type of problem until i was like 60 or so.

also said that if i exercise my legs to the point of cramping and then immediately go rest that doing this over and over, over a period of time will cause new small veins to grow in my lower legs which will then deliver more oxygen to my muscles keeping them from cramping.

i will say they are quite a bit better than they used to be so maybe there is some truth in that part of it.

but as bar as removing buildup from veins or arteries that is already there she told me no medicine will remove it and only surgery will remove it.

i dunno if i believe that or not.

I feel for ya. I'm only 45 and my heart and circulation is also acting up? What has caused all of us younger people to have these old people diseases? I'm guessing it's the vaccines we were all made to take. Mine started around late 20's, first with shortness of breath and tachy cardia upon any exertion. It's a conspiracy I tell you...these vaccines were made to bring down our nations people...no wonder more and more parents are not letting their kids be vaccinated.

Yeah, how do you safely take large amounts of C if you have an ulcer?
 Quoting: Alecto

You MUST take a buffered form of vitamin C (calcium ascorbate or Magnesium ascorbate). This does not irritate the stomach.

Don't forget to cure your ulcer, since it is caused by bacteria.

Thanks for this. I've had numbing toes and not-as-warm-as-they-used-to-be feet for, at least 5 years. After reading this post, I started taking Vitamin C and L-Lysine. That was only a month ago. And now my toes are feeling like the circulation & feeling have returned AND my feet are back to the warmth they used to be. Hopefully it's cleaning out the rest of my Cardiovascular system.

Some Conifers are a great source of Vitamin C:

Excerpt:

"Plain Pine needle tea contains 4-5 times the Vitamin C of fresh-squeezed lemon juice, and is high in Vitamin A. Pine needle tea is also an expectorant, decongestant, and when cool can be used as an antiseptic wash."...

I've been taking 5g of C and 4g of lysine. (pills)

Is it supposed to be taken all at one sitting or spread out over 2 - 3 times a day?

Linus Pauling is right. Animals dont produce a vitamin c complex. They produce massive amounts of ascorbic acid.

Those saying ascorbic acid is bad are wrong and not educated on the subject.

I've always taken mega doses of C, since I was a kid...but in reality, the body needs all nutrients in the right amounts at the right time. There is no one miracle vitamin or amino acid, you need them all.

Being an herbivore hurts more people than it helps, but if done correctly, and you study nutrition the way a doctor can, then it can be good, but most don't put in the time and energy to learn properly.

THIS!!!! It works! First signs of a fever blister, take them. You can buy Lysine at a DOLLAR GENERAL for a couple of dollars versus a drugstore.

Vit. C is great in treating skin conditions as well.

Cholesterol and fat have wrongly been blamed for too long.

Healthy people are not profitable.
 Quoting: brain_overload

The western diet with too much fat and cholesterol & indeed the problem. This is why vegans do not have the problem, and when the diet is changed the symptoms such as high cholesterol normalize.
 Quoting: - 14012564

My friend eats pounds of pork and beef every week. Every week. Moderate on the veggies. His cholesterol is perfect and colonoscopy and CT scans were called "pristine." He takes no Rx. His wife eats rarely eats meat, lots of veggies and fruit and is on cholesterol Rx, same with his Dr. and they both still can't get the level to where they want it.

More and more doctors are looking for high inflammation levels as future indicators of heart trouble vs. high cholesterol.
