Re: The New Face of the Homeless: College Graduates (video)
Same problem as in the UK, everyone goes to College\University and all come out with the top “A-Star” grade – so how the fuck is any employer supposed to pick the cream of the crop which is the whole point of these places.

I blame a few things, firstly this PC bullshit that we are all equal – have to make it look like the Africans\Mexicans (or whoever) are just as smart as the indigenous population, secondly, the Government can say what a great job it is doing because everyone is equally so bright (Stats are king these days) but forget to mention they have made everything easier and lastly, it is now a money making monster just like everything else.

So now ALL these students come out heavily in debt, expecting a nice cosy 100k job and get a big fucking shock when it does not materialise!

Guess taking on the PC-mentality actually DOES have a price

In the five years it seems to take to get a four year degree these days, you could become a journeyman electician, plumber, plasterer, bricklayer, carpenter, or even a novice farmer. In short, you could be useful to people so that they would PAY you.

A degree in negro girl lesbian studies won't do that.

That's because Mexicans are willing to work - I'm Mexican (Mex/euro mix) and all of the compatriots I know have good work ethics and don't rely on handouts. Black people don't want to do the trade labors; they don't even want to do easy-as-pie customer service without an attitude! White people don't like to get their hands "dirty", so let Mexicans and Asians do it, since they don't mind hard work in exchange for pay - you know, what's called working? Remember when there used to be black tradesmen? It's rare to see a black electrician/plumber/mechanic nowadays but you see plenty of the other races. What does that tell you?

The trend I have seen in my suburb is young Caucasian men, often college-educated, working as tradesmen. There's tons now and a lot of work for them. If people like you actually followed their example, you'd STFU about Mexicans taking your jobs. When was your trash last picked up by an all-Caucasian crew? They're taking your laborer jobs that no one else wants, not your white collar jobs. Your Govt did that.

Re: The New Face of the Homeless: College Graduates (video)
My generation grew up being told that if you didn't go to college, you would end up being a bum your whole life. Almost everyone I know (who didn't join the military) went to at least a community college or better. Money was spent, time was wasted and now, more than a decade since we got out of high school, many of them have moved back in with their parents.

The idea that college is (always) a magic ticket to success is an illusion. While it is necessary for certain fields, if one is not enthusiastic about getting the most out of the learning experience, the likely outcome is a huge amount of debt and a job at the local mall. Even graduating towards the top of the class seems like there's still no guarantee that the knowledge will be financially compensated.

The time and effort that goes in to getting most degrees can be spent more wisely. Throughout much of my 20's, while my friends were complaining about having to study and how much books cost, I was working two jobs and saving my money. I now have my own little business that affords me to live quite comfortably and still have the free time to waste here with my fellow morans and tards. I try not to be bitter about the arrogance that many of my college-bound peers have had over the years but in all honesty, it is a bit satisfying to see some people reap what they sow.

Not to get off-topic, but what's really concerning is this current generation's lack of interest in learning. High speed internet has become so accessible that anyone who wants to learn can do so essentially for free. Knowing that college is still being pushed as the most ideal plan makes me worry about the future more so than most of the potentially immediate doom we talk about here every day.
 Quoting: Brian Moser

I salute you self-made moran! I became a model right out of high school (dumb!) and then put myself through college by working and only taking whatever classes I could afford and using scholarships. Although my heart was set in things like Ancient History and Archaeology, I had the foresight and good advice of my parents, to choose a more employable career. I chose Psychology and while I have since realized I could never work with the public and certainly not listen to their depressing issues for the rest of my life; I ended up opening my own business, which is Obama-proof for the most part and is now starting to take off. This allows me to create my own workload and schedule and hang out with you fellow tards when I feel like it and even make money off my very profitable hobby, fine art, without having to pay out the butt for some tard BFA or MFA degree. I do utilize my psych skills in my work and even in my art, to a certain extent, it's certainly come in handy, so I'm not unhappy with my investment and I have no loans to repay. I had no loans, but I did have scholarships and I paid the rest myself. It was easy to keep straight A's in psych, as it it with any liberal arts/social science major . It's all about being smart... an advanced degree is great if you plan to be a lawyer, doctor, or scientist but if you want to get a Masters in Art or Sociology, don't be surprised to end up teaching a a local community college, if you're lucky!

Actually, all it proves that I don't really care about following grammatical rules when replying on a lunatic fringe forum.

And who cares, really? I wasn't attempting to write an essay or biz proposal or publish a freakin' paper.

You're probably one of those idiots who think that using phrases like "logical fallacies" automatically wins them a [pseudo] intellectual debate. Let me guess, liberal arts degree, right?

Does this really make you feel a little better about yourself, albeit temporarily? At least I can always be more careful and take greater care of my spelling/grammar/syntax when composing a reply, but you're stuck being an asshole.

At the end of the day and despite what you perceive as lack or skill/knowledge, I still speak more languages than you, my college GPA mostly likely trumped yours, my biz is doing great and even my art hobby is making me money and guess what, I never even took a single art instruction class.
