Powerful super-cells to Texas-Louisiana!!! | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 21836117 Canada 11/26/2012 01:28 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hi, Itsamadmadworld. The people around here just seem to be oblivious to the fact that they are in danger. The general attitude is "oh well, its far enough away nothing will happen here". I would venture to guess that 75% of them have never heard of the sinkhole. That's how they are in the area. Quoting: Earth Cries Unfortunately, we can't afford to just up and leave. But we are watching it very closely and will decide when the time comes for us to bug out. The H2S is not being talked about at all. When there is something on the local news channels, they give it maybe a 30 second spot and don't say anything of substance. Hi, it doesn't surprise me at all that there's such apathy - the general populace seems to thrive in "the state of oblivion", yes? Shame on the media in that area for not making the story a constant priority, but if they're like other parts of the country, they likely have ties to TPTB and thus, suppress info. Here in Texas, there are growing concerns about gas drilling and fracking, and yet, so many people either don't pay attention OR when you tell them facts and dangers outright, they look at you with a blank stare or say something like "eh, what can you do" . . . it's amazing that they don't care at all. True, most people can't just pick up and leave, even in areas where there are indisputable dangers. Clearly though, you're staying vigilant . . . take care and keep up posted on the threads here. TM Here. If we could get all those people in a room for 5 minutes with my Dad they would really wake up. I know nobody is asking the right questions cause like you said they don't care or more precicely understand the possibilities but somebody needs to find out the percentage of H2S that was involved with the well they applied to seal off and cap. It does not seem to be important but its everything. Its like the missing link and I can tell no more and won't know more until I can get that answer for my dad. This is really frustrating for both of us. There is a reason why the company and everybody concerned is not telling what it was. Someone needs to start making a stink about it. Somebody needs to go for it under the disclosure act. Freedom of information. I'm Canadian and it would take months to get it. |

You are very welcome! :) From what I can tell there will be cells passing over assumption Parrish, which is the area of the sinkhole. Hope that lighting stays away from that ticking time bomb! dzijane User ID: 21963817 United Kingdom 11/26/2012 07:54 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Nobody should be in Louisiana, but most people have nowhere else to go or money to get there if they did...also, and most obviously - they don't see anything happening, so in their minds there's no immediate threat. Nothing is burning or flooding or sinking or oozing, (actually it is, but it's not being reported in the news so it's not real to them)... just like Katrina wasn't real to them until 2 days before she hit land. Quoting: . 1610510 And then, authorities made sure it was too late to evacuate effectively, by the time they acknowledged the hurricane threat. it's the same with this sinkhole situation. It doesn't serve TPTBs financially or otherwise to protect people. Anyway, nobody's leaving, nobody will take it seriously until their kitchen faucets are blazing. It's just the way we've become. Dumb, numb and waiting to be told what to do. Worse than animals, we have no instincts left. Some of us do, and I reckon it might be wise to watch the "dumb" animals they will flee well before the disaster hits, if its going to |

Sagewillow User ID: 3997117 United States 11/26/2012 10:23 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I am in NE Louisiana. The storm came thru early this morning on our side. I'm assuming nothing blew up as it would have been all over the news. Louisiana is full of natural gas pockets. It's all basically a prehistoric or present swamp. The areas like north LA that are higher than south LA are just as loaded with gas. I can dig up petrified cypress most any day of the week. We've had some pipeline explosions around here in recent years but that sink hole does concern me. Not for me personally, but it's dangerous and folks are not taking it seriously down there. It's life as usual. I love my south LA neighbors, they are easy going, good folk, but if you live near that thing, please move or go visit some family else where if you can. If not, get a bug out bag ready and keep it in your car. There may be enough warning to get out...or not. Either way, I wish you the best and will be praying for your safety. Sagewillow |
