Re: Doctor visits being replaced with Skype in UK?
A friend of mine in Bakersfield, Calif., was shocked when he went in for a check up and morphine refill. He was told the Drs office had been moved to the building next door. After being led into the treatment room, he found himself alone with a screen. An unfamiliar Dr.came on the screen, asked him some questions, while (what he assumed was) writing on his chart. The doc told him to pick up his refill at the front desk, and that he'd see him again next month.

It's already here in the usa

damned

socialized medicine is crap

have a heart attack, get "stabilized" in the hospital and sent home (about 4-5 hours)

wait 2 months and get a heart monitor for 24 hours

still no doctor, no diagnosis

wait 2 more months for letter referral to cardiologist

the whole point is that you will either 1) die or 2) get better on your own

if skyping could make it all happen faster, I would be happy to do it

it beats googling

I already see a teledoc. It sucks. That's what no insurance gets you.

Seems we are in for it whether we want it or not.

I can see both good and bad aspects to it but can also see how it could be done that way.

Doubt anyone would miss sitting in a waiting room with the assorted sick and diseased.
One of the most important aspects of conspiracy theories is being able to discern when there isn't one.

Oh yeah, like you'd understand anyway.

Remember that scene from the movie 1984 where the Minder on a video screen asks the main character about his meds, and make's adjustments to his dosage right there...

Well there you go...

Oh hell, why not, Doctor's don't "Diagnose" anything anymore, you have to do that yourself, all they do is treat symptoms with pharma...
