I get so upset at cashiers/checkout people asking intrusive questions, ie. What is your phone number, what is our zip code, ect.
However, what gets me the most is when I attempt to purchase alcohol, snuff/chew or cigarettes ( really do not consume them all). Eff this chitt. Especially when the person asking the question look like they are 20 years old or less. I am 46 years old! Can they not see that I am of age?
I propose that anyone that is asked their birthdate when purchasing one of these item respond with July 4, 1776!
See if it even makes them think about that date!
If I was a betting person, I would not put my faith in this generation to identify that date as anything less than July 4, 1976!
Try it and let's see what happens.
Quoting: Just trying 28486938 Well, I suspect they won't sell you your booze, since their boss doesn't want to get into legal trouble for selling to a minor. Same with those "intrusive" cashiers. You do realize that checkout clerk didn't ask for your phone number just because they wanna call you up and hang sometime, right? It's part of the job. If they don't do it, they get fired. I don't see why a cashier should put their job on the line just because you've gotta hang up. Don't want to give your phone number? Just say "I'd rather not." Don't want to give your date of birth for alcohol? Quit drinking.
