Re: Christianity. This guy walking the talk. Living like Jesus. Should we do the same?
The false, Roman-created Abrahamic faiths (Christian, Islam, and Catholicism) have done a fantastic job of dividing the world, as this thread so clearly illustrates. Even among those of the same "faith".

Faith is just another word for "belief without any supporting evidence".

Therefore "faith" should be considered a derogatory term, because if "faith" was used in any context other than religion, would be a laughable event.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 9788321

Yeah, unfortunately...we're still human, and therefore subject to natural human reactions...fear, horror, guilt.

It doesn't make the faith false, it just makes us human.

You seem bitter. How have those who claim to have faith hurt you?

I'm glad you agree that victims of religion live in fear, guilt, and horror.

Fortunately I don't :)

yah and with an individual Jesus, and an individual gospel to boot!

Not really...

but Your statement is supported quit strongly by scripture SEE Romans 9...I'll paste it below...:

And not only so, but also when Rebekah had conceived children by one man, our forefather Isaac, 11 though they were not yet born and had done nothing either good or bad—in order that God's purpose of election might continue, not because of works but because of him who calls— 12 she was told, “The older will serve the younger.” 13 As it is written, “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.”

14 What shall we say then? Is there injustice on God's part? By no means! 15 For he says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.” 16 So then it depends not on human will or exertion, but on God, who has mercy. 17 For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, “For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I might show my power in you, and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.” 18 So then he has mercy on whomever he wills, and he hardens whomever he wills.

19 You will say to me then, “Why does he still find fault? For who can resist his will?” 20 But who are you, O man, to answer back to God? Will what is molded say to its molder, “Why have you made me like this?” 21 Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for dishonorable use? 22 What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, 23 in order to make known the riches of his glory for vessels of mercy, which he has prepared beforehand for glory— 24 even us whom he has called, not from the Jews only but also from the Gentiles?

What a nice humble man. I only wish he would use his money he earns to buy food and necessities for othes rather than cash. From the story it seems that sometimes he gives out cash which coils be used to feed peoples drug and alcohol addictions. I've often thought about what a beautiful world it would be if everyone shared everything and lived simply. Obviously you can't live like that if you have a family. But if you live modestly and give what excess you have to others in need this would definitely be a better world. Its a little humbling to be a stay at home mom and not making an income. I do everything for my family and my children. Its hard to live without an income and dependant on others. Before i got married i worked and made very little money only enough to oay my bills but i still gave granola bars and prayer cards to the homeless people. He said that people take advantage of him all the time but he still gives. There are a lot if very generous and helpful people out there hat donate a lot of money to charities. But we often give only out of our want not out of our need. Just like jesus says about the widows mite. I guess we could all be doing more. But we are also supporting the economy and other people by what we choose to buy and what we put iur money into. Just imagine if we all put our excess money into charities instead if banks. The bankers would collapse and the people would be helped. Why are we supporting greedy bankers anyway? What a contrast to the greed and stinginess of corporate America. What a refreshing video thank you for sharing!

Re: Christianity. This guy walking the talk. Living like Jesus. Should we do the same?
Jesus was born into this world to BE The Propitiation For All Sin. Father's Blood Sacrifice To Enable Us To Come Unto HIM in surrender and to Re-Union; Be Born-Again.

Don't Know WHO Jesus IS?
Then your heart was not Called...

Only Born-Agains Know The Father and Son. God cannot look upon sin or abide with sinners. Jesus Gave HIS Life so YOU Could Come Unto The Father, Come Into HIS Presence. So Father Could Receive you when you make your surrender...

In the garden, Jesus Affirms that HE Does The Father's Will. HE Asks twice for another way... Even Jesus surrenders HIS Will Unto The Father...

Until you make your surrender and give up self Unto The Father you remain mired in carnality. WWJD...

IF Born-Again, you Know what Jesus Would Do; HE Will DO The Will of HIS Father... So would you, being Guided through life By The Holy Spirit.

Don't matter how well you emulate Jesus or how much you give unto others, trying to do God's Will. Unless you have made your surrender, you remain carnal and alienated from HIM.

The reason you were born, given life, is to Come Unto The Father...

From Matthew ch 7:
21. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23. And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Not much longer remains of The Age of Faith... If you would Be HIS, now is the time to seek Father and make your surrender...

So is this guy a works salvation calvinist fatalist as there's hints about in the video?

Is he trying to work his way into heaven and does he really believe that people are not allowed to chose whom they want to serve? People are created in the image of God, that means they like God may do what they want, if they're just robots as calvinists and muslims say (fatalists) then nothing matters anyway, you have no say in anything and all we write here is predestined etc. so nothing matters, it's a retarded system by a retarded roman catholic John Calvin (a murderer and general scumbag), I do hope this guy doesn't believe that calvinist garbage, nor the arminian garbage (saying Salvation is not enough but you must keep your salvation by living perfect, that's so retarded it's not even funny).

It's good deeds Vincent does but if he thinks that doing good deeds will take him anywhere he's deluded, I hope it's not so but he wouldn't be the first one to be deluded that way.
 Quoting: -GLP-Christian-

Going into the wilderness and literally putting your life in Christ's hands is very joyful. There is nothing like seeing your needs being taken care of supernaturally. I've done it a few times and I long to do it again.

Brother Vincent is a addict :) He does what he does because he wants to, and the Lord gave him that want.

hf

I was able to find online a blog written by someone who met Vincent in Oakland in 2009, one year after this video was filmed.

It is a very honest, and very no-holds-barred account.

[link to imperial-sensibility.blogspot.ca]

This quote will give you a hint:

"Before I go into my meeting, I'd like to be clear about my personal emotions regarding meeting and talking to him.

"First I was scared. On one hand I had kind of built up this image of him—that there were people out there who were following Christ and could be looked to as an example. I didn't want to see this constructed image/hope/religious fantasy come crumbling down. On the other hand, I was terrified of coming out depressingly convicted. There might have been some subtle hints of being scared for random little things like, meeting a new person and getting to know a complete surgery etc. They were mostly trivial though. Mainly I just felt scared, and it was this feeling that partly drove me to carry on anyways..."

IMO he's taken it too far.. 10 years is enough.. He should get with his son for awhile and take a va-ca from the gospels.. he is obsessed with it. Nice guy, but he needs to practice moderation..

Unlike the freeloaders of the American "society, last I heard, was that Jesus has two jobs, he was both a carpenter and a fisherman. In this age where it seems everything is poorly made in China and in other countries - there appears to be a wide open market for some good old fashioned classic wood furniture-making and other carpentry to replace the pressboard IKEA crap and the over-priced cardboard furniture stores.

There are many parts to a body

There are feet, hands, lips, ears, nose, torso, thighs, etc......etc....

the hand can't be a foot .....

The nose can't be an ear...

the point is that God has a purpose for everyone ...

God called Vincent to play his part but that not what every Christian is supposed to do

seek your purpose by going before The Lord in sincerity in prayer and He will guide you

I think it's practically impossible to truly live according to core Christian philosophy and teachings in today's society.

Every day, you sin, whether directly or indirectly. Through engaging in society you're profiting in the exploitation of animals and other people. You're basically forced/obliged to be giving into greed, gluttony, sloth, all sorts of things!

If you wanted to comply with all the teachings, I would think you would have to sell all of your things, give them to the poor and infirm, and go off and dedicate yourself to your God. Or maybe be a priest or pastor or whatever. Either or.

You might be in the world, but you shouldn't be of the world, or however the saying goes.

So if one is truly serious about their belief in the Christian side of things, Jesus, the bible, all that stuff, I would think that would be the right way to go about it. Dunno though.

This is so true, every day I think of all the waste and exploitation of animals and people. I think I'm saving money sometimes, but then I wonder what sweatshop things were made in. Or whether or not something is GMOd or sprayed with chemicals that have harmed people. Or all the people who are forced to labor for so cheap to provide my cotton clothing. I do shop at second hand shops for stuff, but yeah, I hope everything changes soon so we don't have to live this way.
