Counter-culture is generally the thing you aren't taught in school, often the people drawn towards 'Communism' are kind of outsiders and latch on to such ideas as an alternative. I don't think 100% of the ideas to come from socialism are bad but it has been abused and corrupted by people who use it to their own agendas. Now adays communism/socialism is synonymous with the most sickening kind of 'leftism', where-by everything must be accepted with open arms except the white christian male, who is the root of all evils in the eyes of the new extreme left. Your point aswell about it being covertly taught may be true but actual, government endorsed education must surely be held to a standard. A balanced approach to teaching about communism will not convert anybody to it who wasn't already going to take that path at some point in their lives. If anything learning about the 50 million plus who've starved under communist leadership may help some young people realise that the grass isn't always greener. The old “I’m going to be different by being the same as everyone who is different so I fit in” syndrome is highly encouraged today in the USA as it was in the past in Russia and china. Every communist uprising has the same base momentum points. This is why it’s easy to finds lists of things that have to happen first. Every time the government encourages the children to rise against their parents and that it is their parents fault for the current sutuations the children live in. Then the state then encourages the children to have a “cultural revolution” to do away with the evil old status quo. The youth rebel and the state replace the parents who failed. Now the children see the government as their savior and the family as everything that is wrong. At this point the state can do no wrong. The state even encourages self-sacrifice and being penitent as a form of control. What the whole thing really does is removes power from the revolutionaries and from the old school status quo politicians so a new foundation can be built why no groups hold true power to stop it. Anger, disenfranchisement, revolution are the keys to unlock the road to Leninism.  People like this guy above who believe they are protesting against the machine when in reality they are feeding it for the politicians own ends. I'm only human, it's my biggest flaw. We must all realize a sink a chair and a pillow are all luxuries of home and a soldiers helmet takes the place of all three. |

It worked so very well we now have a myriad of new terms that people accept openly instead. When you really start talking to these people they have the right values but have no clue they are fighting against most the things they say they believe in. Going to see more and more of this. And yes you can discriminate for political view; it is not a protected class under federal law. State laws are different. federally protected classes are as follows.
