Drag you pasty white ass up into a cab of 80,000 pounds and get a real education on how to drive. You will never be the same but youwill be one hell of a better driver. Basically, you don;t know shit. So sit down and shut the fuck up while the real men talk trucks and big breasted waitress

I love big breasted waitresses. I also love small breasted ones. Hell, I just love not waitresses. I think I'm going to go have a burger at the local truck stop!

Re: why do you truck drivers take forever to pass another rig?
I drove truck for many years but have since semi-retired. There are still a lot of courteous truck drivers out there but not as many as when I drove. There are so many assholes that think just because they have a larger vehicle that they own the road. When trying to merge onto the 4 lane so many won't move over to let you in even though there is no one on the other lane to prevent them from moving over. Another thing I notice is truck drivers suddenly cutting over to the passing lanes as I'm about to pass them and making you slam on your brakes to avoid rear ending them. Turn signals also seem to be something a lot of them don't think is necessary because of their size.
As far as taking forever to pass another vehicle, that is pretty much unavoidable since most big rigs are governed and can only go so fast.

In Straya, we pass on the right. Some trucks have signs , one on the right that says.."passing side" and the one on the left says "suicide"....I understand that loud n clear

Re: why do you truck drivers take forever to pass another rig?
Because the truck is maxed out. We both have five hundred horse power but since my weight is twenty thousand less than his I'm able to creep past him. We do this all the time because it gets super annoying to have to slow down one mile per hour when we follow a slightly slower truck.

We will agree to stop doing this if you assholes in cars stop passing on the right. It's incredibly dangerous for you because we have a blind spot over there. Just stop doing it for your own safety. The other really stupid thing you guys do is pass on the left at a high rate of speed and then slam on the brakes while swerving in front of us as you carreen off an exit. The sheer stupidity of this move is breathtaking.

Re: why do you truck drivers take forever to pass another rig?
I'm not a truck driver, nor have I ever driven a truck, but I would guess the reason is that these trucks are not sports cars. They are VERY heavy, so it takes time to increases speed (even a few miles per hour). I give these guys a wide berth when driving. It seems like a tough job.

Re: why do you truck drivers take forever to pass another rig?
Because there's not a lot of differential between the speed of a loaded semi; whereas a car can just zip by. The vast majority of truckers in my experience (and I've spent a lot of time on the road) are very good drivers.

That's because those that aren't very good drivers don't make it very far.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 25447468

Absolutely true. Cars and their drivers zip around and truly little concept of how to best facilitate smooth traffic movement for everyone on the road. Most truckers know what they are doing and perform well.

The folks that think they don't, well, I suppose the best way to put it is that you're inexperienced and have little respect for traffic law. In most states, passing on the right is illegal and ill-advised (if you are interested in self-preservation).

It is tough enough to drive considering the potential for something to happen unexpectedly, without people intentionally doing something stupid to get to their Mother's house 4 minutes faster.

Drive safe out there folks. Happy holidays.

good advice, drive safe out there people

Re: why do you truck drivers take forever to pass another rig?
I still haven't heard a good explanation
On a straight flat stretch it takes one driver 5 minutes to pass the other is beyond me. The only explanation as the drivers are bored out of their minds and having a little fun. I say only one explanation because the other would start with a F and end with ARD

Four wheelers are the problem, not the professional driver of that big rig.
