When you have a heritage that extends back as far as the end of Atlantis, you too can call yourself non indigenous. Doh! FYI indigenous means native to this land. It doesnt mean we grew out of the mud here, but it sure as hell means we adopted an identify that is here and no where else. When Atlantis allegedly disappeared and they allegedly came to our shores 15 thousand years ago,,, they were immigrants. They did not bring a colonialist attitude, a foreigner who conquers for a foreign land and never identifies this place as home. They had no home and the residents here adopted them, married them, had children with them. If you cannot see Mexicans as your brothers, and find common cause with their identity and struggle than you are not an American. Maybe one day your children's children will be,,, but until that time you are a mere offshoot of a foreign land, with no indigenous identity.
