It's really quite simply.

Drug cartels and gangs (it's in the name of one of the groups FFS) grow and develop through the sale of ILLEGAL drugs.

Why must this be done through illegal drugs?

Well for one, illegal drugs have a highly inflated street price compared to legal drugs of a similar cost to cultivate.


Gangs and cartels make ALL of their money by selling drugs. If it wasn't for illegal drugs they would run out of money, immediately.

Consider that during the 1980s, an ounce of heroin sold in Afghanistan for $5 sold in NYC for over $2,000. Today it's still pretty close to those numbers although I think the price for an ounce of heroin has dropped to well under $2,000 but still over a thousand.

For the sake of education I think I will continue on.

High drug prices DIRECTLY CAUSE violent crime. For example, if a person is addicted to cocaine, and they needtheir daily fix but do not have the money to purchase it, what do you think they are going to do?

Well of course they are going to rob and steal as it is the only way to immediately access enough money to get the drugs he or she needs.

If people would mind their own business, and let the coke addict do as he pleases, the legal price of cocaine would probably allow this individual to afford his habit without HARMING OTHERS.

This is so terrible - I remember watching her being interviewed when she first took office and thinking her so brave but worried at how she could possibly survive the violence of the cartels. Very sad.

i remember when i was young,st james hsp did drug trial,they chose a group of heroin injectors and they could go there daily (or maybe twice)and fix chinawhite stuff.ie,strong hsp gear,but if they got caught doing any crime would immediatly be dropped,they were all very good boys and girls.

The vast majority of their profits come from drug trafficking. There is no denying this. It's the most economically efficient way to make profits. Try replicating the profits from drug smuggling by resorting to extortion/kidnappings/other types of vice. It can't be done. Drugs are too lucrative.

We already have legalized drugs friend. What do you call cigarettes, alcohol, and a never-ending supply of prescription painkillers and psychotropic anti-depressants???

The issue is that the government willingly chooses which drugs the public gets access too, some of which create much harm and destruction, while simultaneously trying to tell the public that other drugs are prohibited and that they can't have access to them. No rational system of operation can be based on hypocrisy & contradiction. Either ban all drugs or allow access to all of them. Can't have it both ways.

The Sinaloa cartel is beyond evil. They will kill anyone children as well.
