Is it finally time to start thinking about a Tax Revolt and to "Atlas Shrugs" the system?

.

You know who you are. You get mad when it's pointed out that
if you pay no federal income tax, you're a leech on the rest of
us who do. You may get mad if it applies, but it's still true --
you're a drag on the system and you steal from what we earn.

Meanwhile, there's about 50 percent of us who DO contribute to
the tax burden ... for the other 50 percent who don't.

How can that possibly be "fair"?

Why should those who do "contribute" do so for those who don't
and for those who only consume what the rest of us put in?

The issue should be expanded to address the manner in which taxed dollars are being spent. War, oil procurement and pseudo drug wars.

The us against them mentality that you propagate will only contribute to the demise of the country.

Since Obama thinks it's patriotic to increase this nation's debt,
why not help him further?

If less tax money is being collected, he'll simply borrow it
like he does the other $1.3 Trillion he puts us in debt every year.

The "war on poverty" has done nothing but make more people
more dependent on those who refuse to be in poverty.

I don't disagree with you. How are the exactly fighting this war on poverty? Surely not through education and improved access to resources.

Providing minimal unsafe shelter and low quality food does not constitute a "war" in my book.

They are all victims. Its our fault for failing to measure the politicians on their contributions to the improvement of critical things such as education, safety, quality of life and infrastructure.

Re: Is it finally time to start thinking about a Tax Revolt and to "Atlas Shrugs" the system?
What about the some who are not paying because they are patriotic?

I mean what if say they saw things like.
Operation Gunrunner.
The tax paid bailouts of wall street (facism)
Banks laudering their money through the drug cartels.
A broken war on drugs which has given us the largest prison population per capita on earth.
Foreign aid sent to countries who despise us.
The Federal Reserve a private family receiving all our wealth while they do nothing to earn it.
What if they had their land stolen by the government for oil drilling.
What if they had their property stolen by the government to build some public building?
What if they've noticed the elections are rigged?
What if now they understand that they are paying for a police state. More drones, more bullets, more intrusion on our privacy, and a militarized police force?
What if they understand they are no longer paying for freedom?
What if they understand that the constitution no longer stands?
What if they were fondled by their government at the airports?
Perhaps they witnessed others paying not taxes:
General Electric paid nothing, while the guy flipping burgers at McCdonalds paid his.
Perhaps they've seen how their servants have become their rulers.
Maybe they saw how congress exempted themselves from a health care law they enforce on us at gun point.
Maybe they don't want to pay for the blood sacrifice of the innocent under the new Obamacare law?
Perhaps they just plain understand that it is pointless to pay in to a system that is bankrupt beyond belief.
16 trillion dollars in official debt.
6 more trillion owed by fannie, and freddie
another 80 to 220 trillion in unfunded liabilities
Or they understand that our banks, are bankrupt, and owe more in derivatives, than the entire worlds GDP.
Perhaps they see that they are working for a fiat meaningless currency and giving their time and labor over to a state that is increasingly hostile towards them.

Perhaps they finally see their slavery?

The only way it works is if you keep paying for it.

Our country was founded on a tax revolt.

We eventually let the bankers back in, and this is what has happened to us all.

In 1912 there was no Federal Income Tax, very little National Debt, and No Federal Reserve (private family bank), our currency was backed by gold and silver, and we were one of the most industrialized, prosperous and innovative nations on the earth.

Now we are taxed slaves living in the country our fathers handed down to us as nothing more than cattle.

The most free people that now live in this country, are the illegals.

Free health care
free schooling
no papers
no social security numbers
no income taxes
no state taxes

Good thing your hitched to the bit, and paying for their freedom in your country.

Re: Is it finally time to start thinking about a Tax Revolt and to "Atlas Shrugs" the system?
For those whose biggest gripe is others aren't paying so why should I, might stop to ask themselves what exactly it is they are paying for.

This is no longer a Republic.

It's no longer the country you grew up in.

It no longer has a constitution.

Our public servants have become our masters, able to listen watch and track our every move.

It's no longer a country that believes we are fighting for freedom. (have you seen the soldier suicide rates lately?)

In short, lately everyone has already had their "ah ha" moment.

It's amazing that yours was the fact that others aren't paying in, and you point a finger to them as "tax cheats", and say look, they aren't paying, so why should I. It wasn't the fact that your government has betrayed us all and warped into something that is no longer American. They are the "biggest cheats" of all.

Don't get me wrong, I understand your frustration with free loaders, but aren't you just a little more upset with what your government has become? Did God not give you eyes to see?

Re: Is it finally time to start thinking about a Tax Revolt and to "Atlas Shrugs" the system?
We have become everything we set out to destroy.

We fought against fascism, and now we are all fascists.

We fought against countries that went around invading, now we are the country that invades.

We fought against the Soviets who fought proxy wars by supplying guns, now we are the supplier.

We fought against the Tyranny of the British, and have created our own Tyranny.

We fought for morality, virtue, and freedom, we have none of those things mentioned left.

We fought for life, now we slaughter our own.

We set out to cure disease, and now have sacrificed cures for insurance.

We were a nation of innovation, creativity, and have become a nation of laws, regulations, and burden.

We were a nation of sound money, money backed by our sweat, our gold, our silver, our land, now our money is backed by our very own slavery, and the enslavement of our children.

We use to be a nation of the free press, and now it's all controlled.

We use to be a nation of free elections, and now they are all electronically rigged.

We use to be a fit, and healthy nation, and now we are fat, diseased, and our minds mirror it in our thought process

No, we are now everything we once stood against.
