It would not lend much credence to central bank credibility if they admitted they were leasing their gold reserves to ‘bullion bank’ intermediaries who were then turning around and selling their gold to China, for example......

16,000 tonnes is over half the current global reserves. This means, if true, 1/3 of all the Gold held anywhere in the world ATM is fake. Now we could discuss whether or not Gold has any intrinsic value but anybody who has paid full price for gold over the past ten years could have been stung.

I hope German authorities pursue this to it's conclusion as this has to come out eventually. I've also came across a couple of links that could potentially link this to the Bushes/CIA/Greenspan and attempts in the late 80's and 1990 to destabilise the currency of the soviet union. The US can't be trusted to investigate itself over this, it runs to deep but hopefully an external investigation by Germany/EU could bring it all down.
