TheBlaze reports that in a lesson promoted on the TESCCC site as recently as January, a world history/social studies class plan depicted the Boston Tea Party as being anything but patriotic, causing many people to become upset with the lack of transparency and review for lessons. By the same token, whenever they talk about John Brown in history classes, they usually overlook the fact that he too was a terrorist and, more specifically, a religious fanatic. Since being an abolitionist is seen as a good thing, this is often downplayed, but by technical definition, that's what he was. We don't have to white wash history. And terrorism and fanatic does not always = bad in the historical sense. One must put it all in perspective. |

While I wouldn't call the boston tea party a terorrist act, as it wasn't intended to terrorize , but rather to make a statement, I guess I see where they are going with it.
