This video is nothing.
....just cops dealing with an imbecile punk.

There are examples of police brutality out there....but this isn't one of them.
Kid asked for it.

Disagree 100%.

The first officer was fine.
The 2nd officer was so far out of line, his behavior was far beyond unprofessional and he was violent. I can guarantee you there is someone out that has been brutalized by that bastard but is afraid to speak up.

He needs to be terminated.

We don't want psycho officers that have a chip on their shoulder or something to prove going nuts on people.
 Quoting: Debauchery

I didn't post what I did lightly.

The first officer had him in a bear hug wrestling hold, how did this start out? In addition after the first officer was managing things the second one though going over the top STOPPED the situation in the least violent way he could given my understanding of the hiring practices of modern officers. He dominated the scene in the protection of a fellow officer. I don't have to agree with his tactics but I understand his logic.

The officer was violent but WHY WERE THEY CALLED OUT TO BEGIN WITH?

I don't usually agree with Brief but that is a relevant question.

This guy walked away alive, void of bullet holes or taze marks. I know that's a sad standard to judge against but it is what it is.

Boiled frogs anyone?
 Quoting: IRQ_1

You know..he flew out of nowhere and just nailed the kid, I was a bit surprised.

I think the language used really nailed it for me. If you have to subdue someone, get physical with them I understand that but the threats of death and all that, it just didn't sit well with me and like I said before, I generally side with officers when they have someone completely unruly and unwilling to calm down. I mean they carry guns, they can't afford to have someone break free, swipe their weapon and injure/kill either them or someone else. I know that has a lot to do with how officers act, they're on guard.

Still think it was excessive but maybe I'm wrong. I just didn't like how the other officer behaved. I think he could have been much more professional, and with a lot less threats and shit talking. He came off like some ghetto thug.
And the LORD spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin, then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it." Amen.

As I posted I think the kid had it coming (for the most part) but the fact that videos such as these become more common place they tend to stretch the norm.

Are these videos being spread for a reason?

damned

Dial spins up a degree or so.

The interaction between both lines of thought is getting more violent, the question is why?

WOW just wasted my time watching the rest of it..

wrote this a while ago,.
Just had to stop it about 1.55 or when the 'black hero figure' came sliding in...just pitifully.. one reggiw a bunch of wanna be, gonna be nothing but thugs, taping the whole thing up.
white boy could be like one of the black peoples restitution payments..don't know, can't do nothing about that.

haven't watched the whole thing,.but let me guess...ends with reggiw in the back seat, but the home team gets to walk..maybe it was some gang jump in..

Just the mind set of all involved, or reverting minds could be a better description.

Arnold 654 seemed a little extreme, perhpas Breif has a reason behind this officers behavoir.

Not a fan of bad cop behaivor, but i thought the first officer did a decent job controlling his suspect. No need for the other dude to run in assualt and try to esculate the situation. Something tells me Arnold 654 is going on desk duty, if not fired.

Why is it I have made it nearly 40 years without ever being body slammed or tazed by a cop? I've had to defend myself using my pistol...a few different ones over the years, and I've yet to be shot or beat by the police...it's real simple, but you probably can't figure out why, can you?
 Quoting: BRIEF

Maybe the same reason I have never....don't do anything against the law.

Although it's not an absolute, My neighbor got his door kicked in and roughed up by the cops, handcuffed, all in front of his crying children....turned out they were at the wrong house.

So sometimes even if you don't do anything wrong, the cops can be idiots.
 Quoting: *Evan*

Bullshit.

I had a deputy sheriff knock on my door two weeks ago, just as I was taking the kids to school...just put on my jacket...I opened the door and he had papers... he asked if I was so and so and I said no, never heard of him...I asked to see the address on the papers and told him there must be a mistake, he agreed and apologized...no tazering, no shooting, no body got body slammed, nothing but maybe two minutes of time wasted.
 Quoting: BRIEF

No...not bullshit.

There are TOO MANY cases where cops have knocked on the wrong doors, shot dogs, people, or innocent I bystanders.

Now, I could post case after case after case of proof. Not only that, I can post case after case with the cops losing their jobs, being sued, or worse.

When you say things in absolute terms as if it never happens, you make yourself look like you're in the 99% of "Good Readers."

Remember that one Brief? You're in the 99% percentile? Even though you're supposed to be in the upper 1 percentile if you're "The best."

Oh...but, I forgot. It was the ISTEP tests. In which you would have taken probably 25-30 years ago. wink

You're definitely not the bright one you think you are...

you hit the nail on the head

Brief is arguing based on PERSONAL experiences

Re: Cops put unarmed 17yr old in headlock and beat the hell out of him w/ his partner
Do you think this happens somewhere in our country on a daily basis now?

I know of a family that moved back to the states after a couple years working overseas with their homeschooled 17 yr old. he went out @10:30pm in a fairly upscale neighborhood in sf valley where they'd just moved...to get a subway sandwich not knowing what a 'curfew' was.

2 blocks later, he got picked up by the police, handcuffed, felt up, held in the back of the police car for an hour while the 2 officers goaded him *no doubt to get a rise* with questions like, 'oh you're a pretty boy, blond hair, blue eyes, you look like brad pittt, you gay? you like it -- --- ---? the handcuffed teen captive in the back of their car was a virgin raised in a Christian home and homeschooled so this was his 'initiation' into obscene language and such.

they insulted him for not being home and watching the first season episode of 'the simpsons'. he calmly replied (in handcuffs) that they didn't have a tv. he's homeschooled and his parents didn't raise him with a tv and reads and works off his laptop.
they really let him have it for this.
he asked several x if he could call home and they wouldn't let him.

then they started running pictures of escaped convicts on the screen w/ a similar name and saying...is this you-did you do that? I think that technique is referred to as "trauma bonding".
he remained quiet and very calm the entire hour of questioning.
they then doubled the insults - 'oh, you think you're better than us, you're definitely a fag, then, smarty pants fag, what were you doing before you went to get a sandwich, drugs?' he calmly said, 'no, I was reading a book.'

'oh, what book, egghead fag?' they said.

the teen replied,"Atlas Shrugged". The officers has never heard of it.

Meanwhile his parents drove around for nearly an hour looking for him, his mother crying, finally coming home, praying about whether to pick up the phone and call 9*1*1... Then comes a knock on this door and the mother answers it only to be faced with her child in handcuffs and handed a curfew ticket for $300 by the officers.

The boys mother still shakes visibly if asked to recall the experience. One of the values they instilled in their son was to respect authority and officers of the peace. This experience shook everything they believed in.

The (now 20 year old) son refuses to go outside for any reason alone after 10pm. He has become a recluse.
His first experience with officers it's mark. He refuses to get a drivers license.

Of course the parents knew better than to report the trauma to the agency in question... to register the trauma it caused their son and the verbal brutality and the scarring of handcuffs. They know who's in control. They don't want retaliation.

But every time the boy's mother reads of a teen getting tazered, she cries for that person.

they ended the story by saying they decided to never send their son for a $300 subway sandwich in LA again...and moved.

this is just one story of probably growing thousands.
to those of you who have a heart: we must watch out for one another more than ever...if there is to be any America left... fight the fear that's being forced on us from media to t*s*a etc and do the right thing for one another.

and to the officers who have morals out there reading this: be bold to encourage those you work with who you KNOW are on the dark side to do the right thing.
counting on the good ones left to fight to clean up the force. It can be done.

"God bless America, land of the free."
do what you can to make those words ring true again.
