PERIODS OF WET AND WINDY WEATHER WEDNESDAY THROUGH THE WEEKEND

MAJOR WEATHER CHANGES ARE EXPECTED ACROSS NORTHERN CALIFORNIA BEGINNING MID-WEEK AND CONTINUING THROUGH THE WEEKEND AS A LARGE AREA OF LOW PRESSURE MOVES TOWARD THE WEST COAST. RAINFALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN WEDNESDAY ACROSS NORTHERN CALIFORNIA. THIS INITIAL SYSTEM WILL BE FOLLOWED CLOSELY BY SEVERAL MORE STORM SYSTEMS THROUGH THE WEEKEND. THESE STORMS WILL HAVE ACCESS TO DEEP MOISTURE FROM THE TROPICAL PACIFIC MEANING CONSIDERABLE AMOUNTS OF PRECIPITATION WILL BE LIKELY WITH EACH SYSTEM ALONG WITH STRONG GUSTY SOUTHERLY WINDS. OVERALL PRECIPITATION TOTALS FOR ANY ONE AREA COULD SIGNIFICANTLY VARY AND WILL DEPEND ON WHERE THE FOCUS OF THE HEAVIEST RAIN FROM EACH SYSTEM SETS UP. CURRENTLY

IT APPEARS THE FOCUS OF HEAVIEST PRECIPITATION THROUGH THE WEEKEND WILL BE MAINLY TO THE NORTH OF INTERSTATE 80

ESPECIALLY IN SHASTA COUNTY AND THE FEATHER RIVER BASIN. THE MILD SOUTHWESTERLY FLOW WILL RESULT IN RELATIVELY HIGH SNOW LEVELS THROUGH THE WEEK

MAINLY ABOVE 6000 FEET IN THE NORTHERN MOUNTAINS AND ABOVE 7000 FEET IN THE NORTHERN SIERRA NEVADA. FORECAST CONFIDENCE IS HIGH THAT THIS SERIES OF STORM SYSTEMS WILL IMPACT THE REGION. HOWEVER WITH A COUPLE DAYS UNTIL THESE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEMS AFFECT THE REGION

DETAILS ON TIMING AND INTENSITY OF EACH STORM THAT PASSES THROUGH THE REGION WILL BECOME CLEARER. IMPRESSIVE RAINFALL TOTALS ARE LIKELY ACROSS MUCH OF THE REGION WHICH COULD INCREASE THE FLOOD POTENTIAL BY THE WEEKEND AS THE GROUND BECOMES SATURATED AND WATER GOES DIRECTLY INTO RUNOFF RATHER THAN SEEPING INTO SOILS RESULTING IN RISING WATER LEVELS ON THE SMALL RIVERS AND STREAMS. POTENTIAL IMPACTS INCLUDE: *MUD AND ROCK SLIDES LIKELY AND POSSIBLE DEBRIS FLOWS FOR RECENT BURN SCARS ESPECIALLY IN SHASTA AND PLUMAS COUNTIES. *URBAN AND RURAL FLOODING ESPECIALLY FOR FLOOD PRONE AREAS. *MAJOR RISES IN WATER LEVELS FOR RIVERS AND STREAMS WITH SMALL STREAM FLOODING AND WEIR OVERFLOW POSSIBLE. *MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN AND GUSTY WINDS MAY BRING DOWN TREE BRANCHES AND TREES. LOCAL POWER OUTAGES WILL BE POSSIBLE.

The bay area has pretty good drainage between the bay and the ocean. There may be localized flooding but this is no mega doom.

We get hit with these "atmospheric rivers" "pineapple express" systems all the time on the west coast only thing thats changed is the jet stream its further south where it usually isnt.

Also the soil in Cali isnt the best for absorbing large amounts of water. There will be flooding (even happens here), may have some landslides and if it goes on long enough rivers will overflow.

Secondly events may unfold after the storm due to land displacement. Water being evaporated or large amounts of water on top of the land mass may cause it to shift causing earthquakes. With tension building on the West Coast this doesn't come at a good time.
When Hurricane Sandy was about to bear down on U.S. we had large earthquake off the west coast. IMO it may have been due to land displacement or coupled with some kind of electrical mechanism.

^In saying this; early December we may have a strong earthquake (maybe even Dec. 3 a date that ive been hearing a lot of lately) West Coast or even East Coast on depending on unimaginable probability.

Actually, the mountains in NW Cali are supposed to get 12". That would be 10 ft of snow! Quite a bit, I think, considering a lot of the land between Sacramento and SF is kept from flooding with levees.

Anyone notice how hard as hell it is to check the weather anymore, get a detailed forecast, etc?

I used to be able to click weather on Yahoo and go right to satellites, animated, with detailed forecast for days, warnings, whatever,

NOw, I'm lucky if I can get a weather page to load at all, and when it does, you have to practically enter mortal kombat finishing move code with your mouse in order to get to anything that looks like weather, and any maps with animation you get default to useless information maps, having to scour and beg for something normal.

That said, I'm not seeing anything on the west coast right now, nor off in the ocean.

Whether the storm is HAARP driven or not is really beside the point that its still going to happen. Lets hope it does not cause anywhere near the devastation Sandy did on the east coast. People in NJ were told to either fix or demolish their homes by November 30th or face stiff fines.
