I saw the millibar chart and the weather patterns don't look like they're all that much of a big whoop right now. Just a typical west to east flow of moisture.
I'd be more concerned if southern Cal, and LA/San Diego, were a part of any incoming big storm, because generally the really powerful storms are the ones that affect not just the northern half of the state but the southern half too.
